Hey Oldog how'd you get your swingarm up on jackstands? Need to pull my rear wheel soon and I think that's probably the way I'll go. I just posted tonight in an earlier thread about making a rear exhaust mount for my SS2R. Crapped out at the bend, not the weld. So far I've... Repacked my muffler. Wrapped my header. Painted the muffler can w/ hi-temp black paint. Replaced the old style primary tension shoe. Replaced the shift shaft seal. Updated the primary gasket. Have all the goodies for an oil change. According to the tracking number the new tires should be here tomorrow so that may open up a whole new can of worms. I'll be checking bearings along with all the other rotating pieces that go along with them. I guess this cold weather is good for something other than cabin fever. |

k-rock: the rear end is supported by the passenger pegs on auto jack stands, get taller ones if you can. Are you going to finish the header wrap thread?? |

Trying to replace my isolators. Doing the method described as "easy", but it involves removing swingarm carriage from engine/trans. Went to Fastenal after no luck at HD for the bolts, etc. I want to use new hardware, as recommended. Seems the man at Fastenal is stumped...could I use grade 9? How about socket heads? Here is the parts list. Are grade 12 bolts hard to find? (Message edited by silas_clone on January 28, 2008) |
