I've had my X1 listed only on this website for sale. Seams like buyers don't place much value on chrome, billet, carbon, or high performance parts. At what point in value does it become better for me to just start taking the bike apart and selling it in peices. XB Nallin stage 3 heads Nallin adjustable push rods Nallin timing cup Nallin XB head motor mount Andrews n80 cam Force intake Force exhaust PM wheels with near new tires. Carbon fiber - tank trim, flyscreen, lower splitter, both fenders, belt guard Billet pulley LBC brake pads near new oil cooler and thermostatic adaptor s3 molten orange tank HSR42 carb Twin tec coil Motor has 9xxx miles on it My guess is about 4k in the above parts. Still have rotors, brake calipers, seat, frame, shocks, tripple trees, billet dash, gauges, frame, oil tank, lines, ???????????????????? Just hate to take apart a great tuber. ;( I'll try and advertise the complete bike in cycletrader or even ebay. |

Wes,it sucks to find out the poor value on something you have put so much time, effort, and money into. Bad market to be selling a bike in right now,you might get 4000 for it if you persevere and if you part it you need to factor in your time to disassmble and ship all the pieces. I have parted out 3 Buells, all either crashed or with blown engines, and even getting them for cheap it was almost not worth it. The only upside was I got something I was looking for each time. Good luck and we feel your pain. |

The used Buell market is definitely a buyer's market. You won't be able to recoup much of the money you spent on upgrades if you sell the bike whole. On one hand, it sucks if you're trying to sell your Buell. On the other hand, it's GREAT for buyers!! I would try listing it on craigslist. When I was selling my S1 I got WAY more responses from craigslist than I did from BWB. Good luck! |

A home is probably the only thing you historically could put time and money into and expect to get it back when you sell it. Right now even home upgrades are just a selling point at best! I've never willingly paid somebody else for mods on a car, bike or boat. No matter how much they were making me drool I'd say something like "I really am looking for a stock one, do you have the stock parts?". You have to consider your time and money the hobby part of it and consider it gone as soon as you spend it. $4K is probably a good number but you have to be patient and you have to advertise it locally too. I think most people find this place after they already own a Buell.... |

If you have any of your stock parts you would do better to put them back on and sell the aftermarket parts seperate. Those aftermarket parts will add little to your resale. Just stating the obvious. |

with this economy, motorcycles are really taking a hit... ive been trying to sell a clean roadking with extras for wholesale and havent had a bite... roadkings are one of harleys best sellers... http://www.nadaguides.com/ puts my bike at 15700 retail and i cant get 12 for it... it will probably get worse before it gets better.. |

Waiting about 6 weeks will net you an easier, more profitable sale, at least if you're in the Midwest. |

Money is the main issue here. Got to get x-mas paid for. I love the bike, wish I were more financially able. I want a fleet of Buells. |

I've just assumed that if I was absolutely desperate for cash, I would sell mine for 2k and be done with it. I'm pretty much consigned to the fact that I will always have my tuber. Any mods were done for my use and not resale. |

ryker, wait a couple of months(if possible) and put it on craiglist, or ebay as a whole bike before parting. If you decide to part, let me know about the engine. Have a custom built 1918 board track racer style frame i can buy (cheap)that your engine would bolt right in. |

Yeah, I gave up trying to sell mine... Just not worth it... Get people hounding you... "But, its just a Buell..." "then why the hell do you keep bothering me?" Eh, unless its a Fire Sale, hang on to it... I deciced to keep mine, at least for now... Good luck though, it is a sweet bike.. Chase |

I was going to sell mine about a month ago or so and I decided to just keep mine, I had the itch to get something else but lost it when I realized that the new breed of Buell guys are cheap. They want something nice for near to nothing just because some others are giving theirs away. Also, the fact that the NADA shows a ridiculously low price makes some guys say this is what it is worth but I could sell the motor in mine alone for more than the NADA shows for the whole bike. This is the problem with niche bikes, the right guy comes along wanting exactly what you have put together and then maybe you will have a decent priced sale but the general market wants to give $3000 - $3500 for a nice tube frame Buell which to me is ridiculous. |
