Author Message   Railboy Posted on Saturday, January 26, 2008 - 08:43 pm:        I started a post awhile ago about clutch problems. So I went to my local Buell dealership and they replaced the friction plates,bearing,and spring plate. All of the prior problems are gone,BUT now when I come to a stop it will not go into neutral. Not only that, if I hold the clutch in and use my other hand to reach down and try to pull up the shift lever it is very hard to up shift. I have to force it. When it is not running I do not have this problem. Also if it has just been started I have no problems. Only after I take off and try to come to a stop that is when I have issues. I can't get it to shift up or down when at a stop without forcing it with my hand. Any suggestions???? The dealer is closed for two days. It is going back if this is there problem.   Bombardier Posted on Saturday, January 26, 2008 - 09:39 pm:        Try rolling forward gently as you try to select neutral. Also check the shifter linkage adjustment. Then the fluid level in the primary. Finally adjust the shifter pawl IAW the shop manual. The adjustment under the derby cover is critical. Loosen up the cable adjuster and get lots of slack in the lever, then adjust the clutch mechanism as described in the manual. Last adjust the cable for proper lever freeplay. I'll bet your problem goes away. Brad   S2pengy Posted on Sunday, January 27, 2008 - 03:06 pm:        If in the first place the spring plate had come apart and caused damage to the clutch basket.. even after replacing all the other parts you could have problems with sticking.. The spring plate is a known problem...... I suggest removing it..
