Okay, it appears to be time for this. Here's the deal and rules to follow: 1. Post here what parts you want and what you're willing to pay + shipping costs. First posted will over-ride higher offers unless the higher offers are way higher. (If you offer $5 for the forks and someone else offers $500, guess who will be first in line when they come off). 2. This will run for a maximum of 30 days. If the requested parts don't add up to what I need then all deals are off. And I will have the final say. 3. The engine is the big ticket item on these, so if the engine doesn't sell then nothing will sell at this time. If the engine does sell for the price I need then game on, the tools will come out, and parts will start coming off. If you are interested in the engine then factor in having it shipped or work out something with me, I'm reasonable if you're reasonable. Also, include what you consider to be included with the engine so that I'm clear on what you want or need, such as the carb, intake, and so forth. 4. The Ventura rack has already been removed from the bike. It will come with the short rack, the tall rack, one bag as shown in the pic without the stuffed animal attached. I did not receive a grab rail when I bought this so there is not grab rail to go with it, note: there is no grab rail included. 5. The spare gas tank on the ground is one of the bubbled decal tanks of days gone by. When it was still warm outside I peeled most of the paint off of it, so it now looks like a primered tank instead of a black tank. 6. The gas tank on the bike is one that I've formed an emotional attachment to due to the D.C.BRAG flag logo overlays and how that came to pass. If you want that tank then there will be a negotiation involved. 7. If you want to buy the whole bike then say so and make an offer that I can live with. I can live with keeping the bike. 8. I am considering making the trek to Suches GA in late March, I will be bringing a small trailer if I do, delivery of items along the way from Milwaukee to Suches is open to negotiation. 9. Money, some will be needed or wanted up front, some can wait until later. If you want something and later decide you don't then please post promptly. I will be keeping a hand written running log of who wants what with me in my pocket to keep track of all of this. 10. Stuff happens in life at times and one does what one feels the need to do to deal with the times at hand. This is one of those things I feel the need to try to do. 11. Full disclosure time: several years ago I rode this bike from Milwaukee to Seattle. While riding along Highway 101 just south of a small town on the Olympic pennisula in Washington state I was rear ended by an 80 year old tired medicated driver who didn't stop in time for the 4th of July traffic. The bike was left with Eastside Harley/Buell in Bellevue Washington where it was repaired. I was told that they replaced the rear wheel and the rear swingarm and I have no reason to believe otherwise. Various bodywork was also replaced along with assorted other parts. The repair guy said the frame was straight. They somehow failed to notice a slight bend in the handlebars which are still on the bike and is barely noticable. Sometime after the wreck after I got it back I had someone I knew swap out the rocker cover gaskets to the newer style, I assume they did a good job since it hasn't leaked since. Last year or so I replaced the primary chain tensioner to the updated one, and I believe I also switched the primary/tranny lube over to Syn3 at that time. It's due for a fluid change anyway and the synthetic stuff will be used if I'm the one doing it. The bike has a little under 30,000 miles on it. 12. I still have the stock breadbox with most of the stock rubber oil breather tubes. I also have the stock turn signals as I've changed the ones on the bike to the X1 bendy type turn signals. 13. I also have an old broken mount WileyCo muffler and a new unused stainless steel WileyCo replacement muffler which will also be for sale if this all gets to the use-the-tools point of the deal. The newer WileyCo requires the newer Y-mount exhaust hanger which in not currently on the bike. The bike will not come with the newer style Y-mount because the one I have will be going onto the S2 eventually (unless something happens with that too). 14. I'm the original owner of this bike and bought it brand spanking new in August of 1999. Not being the anal type I do not have records of maintenance or oil changes or anything else. I might still have a receipt for something or other laying around but don't count on it. I tend to just do stuff as it needs doing and don't really keep a paper trail of what I did. If this sort of record keeping is important to you then perhaps it would be less stressfull for all concerned to shop elsewhere. If my style of recordless record keeping is okay with you then great, please proceed. 15. Condition of tires and whatnot such as bearings and such will be answered if and as I can. If I can't answer your question then I will say so. Straight up and honest, stuff is what is it, no BS, no crapola, no games, just a friendly deal. And with that I throw myself open to the hoards, post your orders, flame me, bombblast me, ridicule me, make a deal with me, come what may. It's winter, I'm friendly but grumpy, the snowblower started last night so I'm not as grumpy as I could be. Let the posting begin. ps, I just noticed the ThrottleMeister barends in the pic as I was Preview/Posting this, those are removed and are not included in this deal, sorry. I will add updates and more pics if and when I feel the need. pps, just noticed something else, those nylon suspender looking straps on the bike are to keep the tankbag clips secure when the tank bag is not on the bike. The tank bag is in the house and is not included at this time, nor are the nylon suspender looking straps. Thanks. ppps, the shifter is an earlier version of the newer style shifter setup and works just fine for me. Later newer style shifter arms for the M2 had slightly different length(s) for a part or two, the details are posted somewhere in the archives of the site here. I do still have the original stock shifter setup. Okay, enough of this ppppppps stuff... |

Additional comment (sometimes I type too much): I'm coin flipping. If this deal doesn't work out and if the bike remains intact and if I find the travel funds elsewhere and if I end up going to Suches in late March I might bring this bike instead of the S2 and stick a small ForSale sign on it while I'm riding around. Just something to keep in mind. As I said, I don't mind keeping it, I just have other priorities and needs right now and the M2 is currently at the front of the disposable list. Sucks to be it. Such is life. Life goes on. |

Dibs on the swingarm+hugger+belt guards.. If the price is right, and if you do end up parting it out. I'd like to add that to my S3T. |

Are you interested in the swingarm mount as well that bolts to the rear of the engine cases, or will your current one interchange? We'll have to figure out the pricing once this progresses a bit. I might work out an assistence request with you on this disassembly if things get to that point. |

Yeah, I think I need the isolator block as well. And I have no problem lending a hand in dismantling |

Thanks. = = = = = = = = = = Anyone who wants to send me an email/PM, please include something in the subject line that is obvious, otherwise it hits the spam bucket and I never see it. I can only check the email in the evenings every day or three. For payment I don't do Paypal, so either cash or U.S.Postal money order. Appreciate it. $2,500 on the engine and I'll get out the tools, offers will be considered. If you want to hear it run first we can work something out. Willing to have it dyno'd or comp/leakdown tested if you foot the testing bill and if it is done at either Surburban Motors in Thiensville or Hal's in NewBerlin. |

Mike, I added a "Start New Thread" capability here in case you want to list stuff separately in different threads. |

Thanks. If the parts start coming off I'll upload pics to photobucket and imagelink them into sub-threads. I think this weekend I'll be gathering my tools back into one pile to get ready. Hmmm, I've got a 5' high pile of snow throwings behind the garage, maybe I'll make me a snowman toolshelf just for grins. |

Mike You've placed me in a quandary. I would much rather see that darlin' stay in one piece, but like you said..... If it goes to pieces though, I would like to have that ventura thing, but I don't know how badly I want it. And it certainly wouldn't look a bit worse without it anyway, so I wouldn't feel like I was an active part of the desecration. I think I want it about sisty dollars bad. I believe it is worth more than that though, and if it goes, and somebody wants it even a little badlier than I do, I refuse to be offended. Rotzaruck!! note: I really didn't read all that stuff you wrote. If what I said intrudes on anything you said, just disregard the offending entry. |

I googled up a bridge to help you out of the quandary Got you down on the list for the Ventura rack. Just one other person so far sort of maybe thinking about it. I'll keep you posted as soon as I make a go/nogo decision. And the Ventura rack could be a go in either case. Thanks for the interest. |

Guell, I'll add your interest to my pocket list, but Steve is ahead of you in line. Anyone got/know a fair/reasonable price on the wheels with tires and with brake rotors and with rear pulley, good tread on the rear tire, legalish tread on the front tire? Thanks. |

"OK appears time for this" Like there's no real person making any decisions about this whole deal. Then a freakin 15 point, foot long posting on all the "rules." Like who's gonna trust anybody like that or read all the 'rules"? Sounds like you will just change your mind about whatever, whenever... Christian |

Strange as it may be I don't want to start parting out the bike, end up with $600 and an unridable remnant. There is nothing wrong with the bike as it is, I could hop on it right now and ride it cross country if I had the time and if there wasn't snow/ice on the ground, but I'm past it for the most part, got the S2, got a FLT Harley for two-up rides, and the M2 is somewhat in the way. The market is functionally down on the M2, they tend to be worth more in parts than they are whole so that's why I"m going in this direction. And, yeah, I type too much. If one of you has a better suggestion on how to handle this then have at it. In the mean time I'm gathering up my tools, searching recently sold items to figure out fair prices, and am shoving stuff around in the garage when I've got time to make room to do the work. Have a very nice day. ps, yeah, I might change my mind, but so might the people interested in the parts. Want to buy an engine? Give me a fair price on that as that's the biggest ticket item on the bike and I'll start the disassembly later today, complete with pics. 'scuse me now, I've got to go dig some cement blocks out of a snowbank to use in a relative's truck for ballast. The internet, wild wild west or carnival, or a little of both. Oh well, life goes on. |
