At the moment I am enjoying some Eagle Rare 17 year old, as G-d intended. Sipped. Lately have also taken a shine to Buffalo Trace. From the same company I believe. Any other bourbon drinkers here? What do you like? Don't like? |

If you want to split hairs, EZ, JD (if you are refering to Jack Daniels) is not technically a Bourbon. |

When I do drink, which is rarely these days,I'm a scotch drinker myself. I shared my last bottle with the masses of Buellers at the Boiler Room last homecoming. My preferred scotch is 21 yr old Auchentoshan (pronounced Osh-en-tosh-en). It is a lowland single malt scotch, and it is actually not that expensive (in single malt scotch circles) http://www.morrisonbowmoredistilleryshop.com/Produ ctDetails.aspx?product_id=950 at around $130+/- |

I hate when people call Jack Daniels bourbon! I prefer Gentleman Jack over bourbon any day! |

edit: I like bourbon too, but the Irish invented whiskey and being Irish as I am, I favor the peat. Bourbon is from Kentucky, all the rest of the dark brown whiskies are technically sour mash I believe. Canadian whiskey just sucks, they should stick with beer and back bacon, sorry but that's the way it is. Scotch is good too, and since it's rare to find good Irish whiskey in a pub, I drink a fair bit of that. My good friend, the World Famous Pinner Dave always says, "if it ain't Scottish, it's crrrap!" Does Scotch count as bourbon? If so, I'm liking the Johnnie Walker red label. |

Never understood scotch, whiskey, bourbon, or the soured mash; make mine a good clear clean light and potent vodka, stack them up 100 grams at a time. |

My favorite bourbon is Makers Mark. I'm a long time bourbon fan but being stationed overseas the selection is thin a best. I'm also an Irish whiskey fan but can't stand scotch. That 21 yr old Bushmills is good but the best Irish I've ever had is Middleton Extra Rare but it's not cheap.....160 euro a bottle! |

I rarely drink, but I do enjoy an occasional Makers Mark. I usually would select a scotch. I got paid for a job a few years ago in alcohol. Part of this included 15 cases (yes cases) of "Bell's" scotch blend. It has worked out as a great gift for others. |

Not a drinker myself but you guys that are need to come and ride with me sometime. I'm within an hours ride of most of those places; Woodford Reserve, Makers Mark, Ancient Age, Wild Turkey, and I used to work at Jim Beam. Most if not all of the places give tours and free samples. Jim Beam and Ancient Age both have abandoned distilleries down by the river, JB still uses theirs for storage and it's spooky as hell especially during the graveyard shift but the roads getting there are amazing on a bike. |

"..Jack Daniels is not technically bourbon..." Why is that? I like nearly all of them. Henry McKenna comes to mind as a favorite. But anything from Jim Beam to Old Grandad works for me. To me it has to have some flavor and effect or "zing" in the mouth. Drinking Canadian or rye whiskey is like eating eggs without Tabasco Sauce. Scotch and Irish whiskey are good, like eggs with some other kind of slightly mysterious sauce on them. Jack |

I'm a Bourbon nut, but I like other whiskies, too... Here's my list: Rock Hill Farms Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit WL Weller Centennial Old Charter Proprietor's Reserve Blanton's Wild Turkey Rare Breed Booker's Lately i've been sippin' Buffalo Trace. Pretty tasty for an inexpensive Bourbon. Jack is for mixed drinks. Hell, I made Bourbon Balls to give away at Christmas with Gentleman Jack! |

Single Barrel Jack, Monogram Jack and Silver Label Jack are my favorite whiskeys to drink. Just sooo damn expensive. I have a bottle of Bushmills Reserve that is outstanding, you can only buy at the distillery in Northern Ireland. |

Oh yeah, forgot to mention.I like drinking DAMNUT'S "Monogram Jack" BEST!! Jack Daniels is "Sour Mash" NOT "Bourbon" or "Scotch" whiskey. I can't recall but, there ARE differences in the way they're distilled as well as the ingredients distilled |
