I have been away from the BW for quite sometime now, we've been wayyyyy to busy!!! I am planning on riding to the Moto GP race in Indy this year. I am originally from Indy and I have family friends there so it will be a multi purpose trip for me. Is anyone planning on riding to Indy? If you are... maybe we can ride up together. |

Maybe! Our defacto director has moved outside of Indy and I would love to make the trip to visit with friends and see the race. Unfortunately I can not commit at this time. I have a lot on the calendar and not enough time and funds to do it all. It can be a fun ride up if you step off the slab. A little slower, but a lot more fun. As we get closer I will know more. |

So I was in the garage tinkering when this caught my eye: A little easier to see with the clamps removed: Now it makes sense why my kickstand hits my exhaust tip. The right side of the muffler is dented, which would pull the right side of the muffler up and pull the left side of the muffler down. I had read that the muffler straps were strong enough to dent the muffler, but I had never actually seen it. I suppose it's possible that this dent was caused by an impact to the underside of the muffler, but since there's no dent on the underside of the muffler I'd say that's highly unlikely. It appears that someone just gooned the install and over-torqued the straps. I hate a sloppy mechanic. |

WOW! Been away from BadWeB for a few days and was welcomed when I turned to C3 by one heck of a great image of the C3 logo. AWESOME! Don't think I've fully 'recovered' from the DC IMS Show, it kicked butt! After 25 years I'd think it'd be about time to take the show on the road. Anyone notice that the 1125R with the passenger seat exposed was VIN # 2?
Bet nobody noticed that the Pearl White S2 at the Condor display was VIN 1316 - 3 bikes after mine.
I noticed it when I saw it in Myrtle Beach a few years back. Strange things with VIN numbers on S2's should also include Christmas 2006 when I saw VIN 1312 on Uke's showroom, and it sure wasn't pretty.
I can't believe the weather forecast for this weekend... I had my fill of snow over Christmas! Should make for a GREAT weekend to surf the net! 1313 |

Carlos - That would be great if things would work out for you to be able to go. I'll check again when it gets closer to the race. |

I did not look at the vin numbers, but did look at the S2. It's still on my Old Skool Buell wish list. As far as the IMS show, it was a fun 22 hour run for me. Jim, how are the wild girls this morning? Let Kristi now they are expecting freezing stuff by 4pm. |

Spike - I am glad you posted that. I have old/new mufflers now for the M2 and the Uly. I got the M2 because I want to commute on it and want to quiet it down, and the Uly to replace the dented muffler from the Dragon get-off. Those mufflers are tough but the pressure per square inch at the point the straps, muffler and bracket meet must be very high. I personally like the fact they are strong since I witness how well they hold when flying through the air and making contact with a tree. |

Jim- That's a great price for an XB muffler. I'm not sure if the standard XB muffler will work on the Ulysses though. I thought the curved outlet on the Ulysses muffler was needed to clear the longer kickstand. I could be wrong on that. |

A very good move by Buell. Using off the shelf parts to focus the Uly into what most Uly riders use the bike for, touring. I am a bit concerned the price is too high, but I think Buell really did a good thing here. RED! Jim, we can change to Red! The funny thing though, I love my Orange. I wish they would come out with an Orange chin faring. |

and some parts from other current Buell models and you've got the perfect - and worthy - stablemate for my S2. 1313 |

HOT!? Not as in good looking, but as in not theirs! They do not have the keys and the bags have contents they do not know what they are. I guess I could send them a request to specify how they came by the bags. |

I'd be willing to bet on this one. Repo or auction buy. Who knows, could be some good riding gear in there. If there is a good digital SLR I'll split the cost withya. Course there could be a dead cat or an old pair of soiled underwear! |

It had to happen sooner or later, #5 got good and dirty today as we had our first inclement weather outing. I rode to work this morning knowing it was supposed to start raining in the late afternoon. I had planned on getting out of work early and beating the rain home. Turned out to be one fire drill after another and the next thing I know, its 6:00 dark and raining. So I packed my laptop in a plastic trash bag before stuffing it into my sling bag. Then dawned all the gear (no rain suit) and headed out. The bike and tires handled superbly and the lights on 1125R make me much more comfortable riding at night. The big surprise was when I get home and found I wasn't wet. The wind protection on the 1125 is excellent, but to my surprise it also kept the water away. When I pulled into the garage the only things that had water on them were the helmet, my elbows and a little dampness on the outside of my hips. I stayed warm and dry in cold wet weather on a motorcycle. Who da thunk it? |
