Socal, great bike, I'm partial to S1's (and w's) myself.. Not sure, but I think your front rotor is clocked off the front wheel incorrectly. If you remove the bolts that hold the rotor to the wheel, I think you'll find one position that will align the wheel spokes to the Rotor spokes and clean up the look a little. Or not. Maybe you like it like that. just an FYI, it hurts nothing, cosmetic only. Actually, George, yours has the same clocking offset. Look at Scotty's before it. anAL |

SoCal: Darn near perfect! If I had your bike and a bucket of money I’d install a ‘99-02, polished swing arm, a clear tail light lens to match up with the turn signals, and one of those pizza dish things to cover the rear belt sprocket. |

Bluzm2, Roc, Old photo. The engine is still in bits. All the pieces are about finished ready for me to put it back together, but I'm lacking the time to do it at the moment. One more week and then our performances are over until next season. Kahuna, Thanks. That's why I bought it. PPiA |

And the Winner is ..... dcbrag member, Randy story is, he receives a FedX Tuesday that says 'you may be a winner' (sounds like Publishers Clearing House ) and doesn't think much about it. He goes out, comes back and decides maybe he should call the number and goes through the 'you're not an H-D employee, over 18,...?' He then asks how many of these they mailed out -- 'just one, you win!' bike pictured isn't it -- he wants a white one. Steve(2) |

Test test. I've been meaning to post here awhile, awesome site and I love the pics. This M2 is my first bike, and I love it a lot. Even without mods these Buells are just awesome. I'm not very mechanically inclined, so the bike will probably stay pretty well original. Anyway, the pic was taken from several hundred feet away and out a window, I was working on a beautiful Sunday morning and daydreaming. Greetings everyone, Charles

All, Thanks for the congrats etc, but I must remind you that I just bought it like that. Hein was the one that made it what it is in the picture. I have the engine out now, changing things in it to suit the turbo that I will be fitting. Then it might feel more like my bike, but for now, to me, it's still Hein's S1W. I just own it now. PPiA |

Welcome Charles! Great looking M2! I thought I was not that mechanically inclined either, but these things are REALLY easy to work on. That looks like a 99 M2. Some things you ought to think about doing... Updated shock (I think this is still a recall, don't know if the old one has to be leaking). An owner's objection to the SRP'd shock is supposed to get you a new shock free of charge. Updated front muffler mount ($100, I think the goodwill expired). Good news, the goodwill upgrade was extended through June of this year. The upgrade should be provided free of charge. Updated primary chain tensioner ($15 + $10 or so in gaskets). New rocker box gaskets ($15 or so, get james steel or new firebolt types and just have them sitting around for when the old ones go out). New OEM one piece rockerbox gaskets are not specific to the Firebolt, they are fitted on all 2002 models. Doing these mods will HELP reliability bunches. The updated shifter and updated detent plate help shifting a LOT, (and the Banke $$hifter is very nice if you have money to burn). The forcewinder ($200) and a rejet are easy installs, and will stop people from asking "what's that big thing on the side"? I notice you are in KY. If you are close to Cincinnati, I will be happy to help with any and all the above mods... I have done them all (except the detent plate) to mine (and the dealer has to do the shock). Bill (contact info in profile if you click on my name to the left). (with a little help from his friends) |

Thanks Blake! Thats good news about the front exhaust hanger, but I suppose it still requires a dealer to install it for you. I wish Buell (who has to be aware of the current state of the dealer network) would allow some sort of self service goodwill deal (tracked by VIN) for those of us that don't live in Modesto, Dallas, or Topeka. I just ate the cost and bought it, rather then have to deal with Eastgate Buell again (good mechanical work, worthless everything else). Bill "in envy of all those earlier narrower M2's" |

Oh yeah, thanks for all the compliments everybody! I am so happy to be a part of this community. Raymaines, what is this "pizza dish" you speak of? Tony p.s. yeah - if/when I get that bucket 'o money I'm sure a good portion will go towards the S1! |

Hello everybody!!! Just want to share the Buell passion. Here is my 2000 M2. I was supposed to sell my M2 when I bought my HD custom but when it came time, I just couldn't do it. My HD custom is really cool but the Buell is definitely my favorite bike. Had Erik Buell sign the tail section too. For more images: http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze2y5f2/2000buellm2/page_01.htm

I think that red X1 has a hand formed aluminum air filter housing. If you go to borgforum.de then on the left side of the screen click the B4B-wunschteile(whatever that is)you'll see some really neat pictures you can click on + see some more stuff.Check out that alum.tail on the same red X1,its nice, kind of like S1 styling. The Europeans really know how to make some great stuff.Too bad i did'nt take German in school. |
