I'm considering the Magura hydraulic clutch conversion kit, as seen on American Sportbike, on my '06 XB12Ss. Those of you who have made the switch to this system, I need you thoughts on the conversion. Was it worth the investment? Are you satisfied with its usefulness? Was it as easy to install as stated? Does the perch and master cylinder look correct and fit nicely on the bike? Do you have to use the chrome clutch lever or is it possible to use an aftermarket (Pazzo) lever? Any advice is GREATLY appreciated!!!! |

Al at American Sport Bike is a straight shooter and can answer all your questions. He has EARNED a stellar reputation for customer service. He wouldn't risk it to sell 1 or 2 (or even 50) parts. Plus he's a good guy and he loves talking Buell I have no experience with the parts myself, but I've heard good things about them. |

BEST mechanical update i have made to the bike not affecting horsepower!! It is a nicety, not a nessesity, but once you have used one, you will forever detest the stock system. It was very easy to install, made easier if you have axle or bike stands, then you dont have to drain any primary fluid. It is only the lever Magura utilizes for now, but is a nice setup, as it allows for lever throw/angle adjustments. if you dont like the color, powdercoat or paint/anodize it. I FEEL it fits the look of the bike, as long as you are not looking to utilize the handguards like the Uly or CityX(correct Al??) I honestly will never own a Buell with a mechanical clutch system again, (well longer then it takes to wait for Al to send me one anyway) they are so SMOOTH with these! Bruce |

I've yet to hear of anybody who installed the Magura hydraulic clutch that didn't like it. The only minus is as Rr_eater said, ya can't use the Buell handguards. The big, big bonus is if you install the Crossroad bars on the S models. The hydraulic line is smaller & more flexible than the stock cable so routing the clutch is a breeze in the park. (so I've heard). (Message edited by metalstorm on January 19, 2008) |

I hope the day never comes when Buells don't come with cables. |

I do have the HYD clutch. I wouldnt go back. I did notice that the 1125 has a HYD clutch. Its a mirror image of the hand brake assy. I would think that there is an easy way to combine the kit with the Buell master cyl. Leo |

Al at American Sport Bike is an honest businessman, and he uses the hydraulic clutch himself. He will love explaining it to you, believe me. He loves to explain everything. In detail. Ask him about the engine changes for 2008 sometime. |

I'm seriously considering the Magura hydraulic clutch conversion kit. Can anyone tell me how much the clutch pull is reduced over the stock setup? I'm having some issues with my left-hand thumb knuckle (clutch-hand) and I'm hoping it's not arthritis. I have a doctor appointment for next Wednesday... but if I need clutch relief, I'd like to know now so I can buy and install this device before riding season starts. Thanks in advance!! |

I would not say the pull is reduced, but much more smooth and linear. It may help with the thumb issue, and if not, go with the aftermarket ball and ramp that Al sells, it reduces pull 40%. GL Bruce |
