They were definitely curious. I ended up with it parked inside their pasture while we were working on the fence for a while. Three of them were hovering around it when I first pulled it in. They'll use anything for a scratching post if it sits still long enough, so I had to keep an eye on it. |

Wow. I've created a monster. Rachel has really taken to the R1200S I sold her. She just got back from a 700+ mile day, solo. She rode to see relatives in South Florida last week. She did the trip down in two days. She left Fort Lauderdale area early this morning and just got home. Tuff girl. |

Too cool Mike. You have launched her from beginner/novice rider into the sport tourer. Soon she will be wanting to do a lap around the country. That reminds me of someone. I just can think of whom?? Spike - You will find the Uly is not to bad off road because of the low center of gravity. I had the Uly one day sideways going up a hilly trail with a soft sand washout in the middle. I did not want to stop so I gave it gas and the rear kicked out and rooster tailed all the way to the top where I popped out over a dirt mount in view of oncoming traffic. Drivers that saw me for the first time were wide eyed to this Orange beast coming from no where to perch on top of the mount. It was fun, but after having a go with a DR-Z400 I realize the Uly will go most places just much slower than the more dedicated dual sport. |

Carlos, I have taken the Uly places most people would not. Creek crossings with the footpegs below the water level for instance and it performed well. However, taking my XR650 through the same places is an awful lot more fun. I never dropped the Uly offroad but I was petrified the entire time. A dedicated "dirty" bike is just bliss; kinda like a Buell in the mountains. See you all at MBV. NUTS |

Jim N- How much did you pay to have your muffler coated? I got a quote from HP Coatings to have my header and muffler coated with their regular HiPerCoat in black, they want $250 not including shipping. I haven't looked into this stuff before, but that sounds outrageously high to me. I'm hoping that quote is a mistake. I was thinking more along the lines of ~$50 for the muffler and $75-$100 for the header, but not more than ~$150 for the whole job. |

Nance, I finally (yea, 'bout freaking time) agreed to terms on a RTP gig. 1 year contract starting on the 28th -- the wife cut off my allowance so it's back to working full-time G2 |

How much did you pay to have your muffler coated? Mike, the muffler is about $50, the headers are much more expensive. The difference is that the muffler is coated only on the outside. The headers are coated on both the inside and the outside. It's the dual sided part that makes it expensive. If you want to check prices, American Sportbike has a header swap program where you send them uncoated headers and they send you back coated headers. They are $189 for black header coating: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/5015.html |

Rubberdown, thanks for the okay to bring the Ascot down. You are a true gentleman! I always need someone to look over my shoulder. I'll post on the Ascot site soon, and see Neil's tips. Hopefully, Pat will be trying out some early Sunday morning rides, and I think it will be a better two-up bike than the xb9. Who would guess a failed o-ring behind the water pump would cause a oil leak? Will shoot for after the Badness. U4 will have to be there, and any other C3 member that 'aint got nothing else to do!! |

Hey Jim. It won't be a easy job. I really need some help and assuring hands for this one. Believe it or not, the motor has to be removed to access the water pump. Real up design! I'm gonna pull and clean the carbs beforehand. Wish I could go down to Atlanta with you, but me and Pat have tickets to see Bobby Goldsboro at Pembroke University on the 26th. Yep, I don't care who snickers!!! If the date changes , let me know. Pat has a sister in Chamblee, probably 30 minutes from New12's house. |

It was a good day (22 hours) yesterday (and this morning). The IMS show and dinner in China Town at the House of Beers with Jose was fun. When I noticed it was 10pm and we were still at the House of Beers, I knew it was going to be a long night. We got to my house at 3:45am. From there others still had to make it further south to their homes. My buddy from work had to be home by 4:30am so his wife could go to work and he just made it. As usual the company was great. |

Good to see NUTS. We had a great time and I wish we could have spent more time together. We got there late after a long ride and were ready to see the bikes. You guys will have to join C3, Jose and Linda at the House of Beers next time. |

Somewhere in some thread, there is a picture, taken in Vegas Bueller's front yard of a bunch of people, including me, standing in a circle talking to Eric Buell. Anyone know where it is? |

Uh oh,,,uh Jim, I'm looking (it may not be the exact picture that you're wanting,,,,looks like there's a Uly laying down taking a nap. Is that the one?) I didn't take it I swear! I was in Nick's backyard eating some hamburgers and stuff |
