post a link to where we can all find it for that price if you can, or post a phone number. That looks to be a nice alternative to our limited and overpriced options. Thanks in advance. |

Ast is most known from there race car suspension solutions It’s a little Dutch company who’s owner has a life time experience with suspension for motorcycles, The founder was a employ at WP suspension , and was involved with the old Buell WP suspension development , One of his son’s who are also in the company, ride’s a buell ( XB ) and made for us the suspension for our drag XB, After looking at the problems with all the showa shocks , they made a new design rear shock for the Tube models , based on the old WP look , but with the newest rally car internals The Shock works very good, you can really feel your changing the compression and rebound settings , way better than the original , The spring is custom to your weight and can the preload can easily be changed |

Can this be adjusted for 1-up and 2-up riding, or is the adjustment range more limited than that? I don't see any obvious adjustability for weight ranges.

it took a couple of weeks more than first quoted(a couple of weeks)as they had a new design for the ends to machine up,they asked for my weight to set it up for me,it is adjustable for two up which is why i wanted it,as the stock shock would sometimes bottom out with just me on it,so no chance of taking the other half for a ride out without getting a new shock and this seemed the best option, placement of the remote reservoir was the hardest thing otherwise it was a straight swap,i have a x1 chinspoiler on my m2,i drilled 2 holes in the r/h mounting bracket and threaded through a jubilee clip and secured it that way,as i said its very adjustable,so i have yet to decide whether to set it up for just me and alter it when she goes on the back or set it at a compromise between solo and two up,also i am a bit lost with the rebound and compression adjustments so trial and error are called for unless anyone out there can help with this on this shock, ast themselves could only advise me to set it as the instructions that came with it said, and go from there. |

Ok I would find the $ somewhere. Agreed, I don't really have the money either, but if this turns out to be a quality replacement - I would find the $$! |

let me talk to my guy and see what he says about the suspension. I know he said that price but I think its because he has had one sitting in the shop for a while now and wants to get off of it. If I can verify how many people would be interested I can see what he can get them for. I will post a confirmed price for a possible group of 10-20 people....give me a few days and I will post up a price. THANKS |

Can someone give me a gut feel comparison between this and a Penske and any of the other options out there? There is also that push shock conversion option as well. |

Ok so I contacted AST personally while waiting for my buddy to contact me back. This is what I got from the sales person from AST: Dear David McNamara, Thank you for your reply! When you order 20 x buell suspension we can give you a discount of 20% (your price: 506,08 EURO each)ABOUT $745 USD. This price is excluding transport. Normally our customers arrange transport by themselves. We can arrange transport (express shipment door to door) – one package with 5 shocks = 200 EURO transportcosts (package 28 kilo – 80 x 40 x 30) Maybe it is best to ask a transport company at your place for a quote. Than compare prices. With kind regards, AST Suspension Marleen I am still waiting for my buddy to give me a call mack with another quote. |

Ok so I talked to a few people and got the following estimated price. 467.23 EUR = 689.677 USD for just the rear suspension. Then shipping would have to be arranged also from Trojan or AST directly. They said they could put up to 5 units into a single box and it would be 200 EUR or 295.21 USD (which brakes down to about $60 per unit) total it looks like $750 per unit. I am still awaiting a price from the guy with the shop, these prices are from Trojan Horse Racing. I also am trying to get the price from AST to lower a little by telling them what Trojan is offering. Trojan offered $60 less than the manufacturer, i am guessing AST could do a little better. I will post more info as I get it. |
