Love your M2 Ken. I just recently bought a '02 that had been laid down. It's painted black instead of volcano grey. I've been looking for a good example of what it looks like stock. By the way, the S3 clock is a real nice touch! |

Thanks. I found some of the original advertising material from 2002 and they have a great pic of the Orange and Grey M2. I plan on keeping it with the bike for a long long time. |

gotta say i love my m2 just the way it is. i'd never be able to come up with some of the things you guys do to your bikes anyhow so i'd be better off leaving well enough alone. |

when i got the first one, i got it sept. 28, 2001. had just been to sturgis the month before where i test rode the buell for the first time(by the time we reached the expressway, i was right behind the lead rider and when he said we could open it up after we got on that's what i did. i was there a few minutes before anyone else showed up with the biggest sh$t eating grin one person could ever have) and when i saw this one i just said it was time for a change. the cool thing was when erik sighned it at bike week one year he said this was his favorite scheme that he had come up with at the time. hopefully it still is cause i know it's mine. went riding up to caesers head yesterday with tailspining, turned out to be a great ride. if you ever get up this way give me a call. my numbers in the bran network. |

Glad to see that brute back on the road Neil! i'd never be able to come up with some of the things you guys do to your bikes anyhow so i'd be better off leaving well enough alone. Heh, heh... the Mikuni carb kind of gives away whatever pretense you're trying to foment with that statement. That's a fast bike. |

Here is mine as she was when I picked her up from the original owner. I'm putting her back to stock (with the exception of the stage one Vance and Hines setup). Luckily the guy who owned it before didn't really change too much. Mirrors, grips, levers and turn signals thats about it. I was lucky to find such a great bike is this condition and unmolested or hacked up.

gotta love the way tubers really hold up in an accident. when the daughter got tailended on the low, the frame only had one little bend in it. every thing else took the blunt of it pretty uniformly. or in other words it got distributed throughout. |

I'd be damaged (emotionally) more than my bike if I did that. |

The first ride after I put it together was with a Buell group near the end of the riding season, there were plenty of brave people. we went into a corner and I felt the back end get a little squirly and I started to get a knot in my stomach. The carnage above was done by slowing down to about 85 mph before going off the track. I slid a looooooong way, apparently the bike just did front flips. Overall, the bike ended up looking better then my leg. Ever seen your own shin bone, I have! Today, I have moe scars then my bike. Note to self: Plastic bike parts are cheaper then plastic surgery. I guess i'll have a scar on that leg for life. |
