Looking to polish out my plastics. Previous owner sanded the bike down with 600 grit for a flat look. I want shiny. I've heard some people using micro mesh on the Buells, and lots of people using it on model cars and such. Anyone know what kit I should order? Was guessing maybe the acrylic kit.

Dunno.... did you try Novus 3, then 2, then Harley Sealer Glaze?

The 600 grit may be too much for the novus 3... and you could be looking at a LOT of work.

I don't think the plastics are *horribly* expensive. Probably comparable to the price of a quality paint job.

I got a white Bolt that had been gone over with a coarse 3M pad. I imagine it to be similar to what 600 grit might do.

I removed all the plastic and used a rotary polisher with a cotton buff pad and some of this: (red stuff)

Then I went over it all by hand with this: (white stuff)

I used a very light touch with the polisher, and lots of water in a spray bottle to keep the surface from overheating(melting). It took the better part of 2 days, and it was a HUGE freakin mess, and I thought my arms would fall off after the first day. But the plastics turned out great.

Whatever you do, take your time and be patient with it.
