61 years old this month. I flew Phantoms and Harriers as a younger man - this bike reminds me of them, both in thrills and appearance (can you say 'Beware Jet Intake'?) I still like going fast! Jack |

Two of the coolest planes ever and I, since my USMC days, have always had a fascination with A-6's and Harriers. The pods on the 1125R could have been lifted from them! I confess to getting a real 1125R thing going myself . . . |

Turned 53 while they were building my 1125R. Best Birthday/Christmas since I got my first .22 at 11. Been riding since '74, Harley man since '79. To paraphrase on old Rock and Roll saying - If it's too fast, you're too old. Z |

I'll be 15 in March. Oops typo, I'll be 51 in march. I've always been most all about dirt even though my first bike was a street bike in 73. So it's 51 and male. |

I'm 50 and former USMC as well. Seems their may be an unexpected demographic correlation between the Corps and Buells. Semper Fi |

Hey guys I will be 50 in may, and a motorcycle only guy by choice. I had a bagger that I had customized and did not like all the attention I was getting every were I stopped, plus I could not corner with the bike because I had extended the bags making them even lower, then there was an explosion of baggers on the road and got bored with it. I sold the bagger and bought the ulysses which is the type of bikes I grew up with, it had the luggage that I needed to shop with, then started riding with the nebo guys and got into riding fast again like I did when I was younger, now my son has turned 18 and feel the freedom, so now I want to go to racing school to get my licence to do my fast riding on the track, not to race, just to do track days. bought my first harley in 1982 when they came out with the xlx which had flat track bars, and reminded me of a old harley dirt bike, I have been riding harleys since then, I have never owned a sport bike before, and did not know what to expect from this bike but so far I love it, and love singles and v twins. This has me laughing . . . I, just for the first time, realized I first rode a Buell before some of the current owners WERE BORN! Yeah . . . I feel old.

Mrs 04buell here.... Jerry has had motorcyles since he was 15 years age. I think his first was a Harley something....anyway, we have had bikes on our premisies since day one of our marriage 34 years ago Groundhogs Day. I got my license to ride in '75 when I needed to go see my mom in the hospital and did not have a car available. I jumped on the Kawasaki, rode the 15 miles to the Drivers License Bureau, went in, took my written test, came out and took the driving portion and have held a license since that day. Rode small bikes while our kids were young but when the daughter went away to college, we decided to really enjoy the street bikes. Since 1999 we have owned 3 Harleys, then in 2004 or 2005 Jerry fell in love with "Christine" the Buell at Daytona Bike Week. He decided to get it when we came back and I traded my Harley for the SS in October 2005. I found out real quick how to do a stoppie (the only thng is, I forgot to stop) because the brakes are much more powerful than a sportsters, but the old body healed quick! So we now have a 2006 ULY and a 2006 SS and have no desire to look back. We did go look at the 1125R but it is probably more than I need PLUS it really leaned me over the air cleaner at an angle I am not comfortable riding in. He loves his ULY and would not think of getting rid of it for any other bike so I guess the 1125 is not in our plans for now. Oh....the question...he is 55 and I am 53 and we are having the times of our lives!!!!! |

Interesting the number of Jarheads here. I was Gator Navy, but got along very well with my Corps brothers. Two floats, I taught electronics to the techs, cause all the Corps taught them was "Black Box". They returned the favor by keeping me and my big mouth safe on the Beach. So Semper Fi FutherMuckers Zack |

Court: There is a reason for feeling that way........................ it because you are ............. old that is or, should I say not that old since you are younger than me LOL. Ooops that means I'm old too! We do have some members here that are more "mature/ seasoned" than you or I but we won't mention any names ;+} Time4Lunch Neil S. |

Interestingly fun thread! I'm a 40 year old kid. Been riding bikes all but 4 of those years. Got my first Buell in '04 and now I'm a die hard Buell fan. I've sold 7 Buells since then and I couldn't sell a heater to an Eskimo! Really loving this 1125R. JJ Thank You! to each and every Vet here. I fly my flag Proudly for you all. |

Wow lots of Marines here. Got out in Nov of 99 myself. Im 36 years old and have been riding since i was about 10. An equal mix of dirt and street. I've always had Cough cough Rice bikes but was converted to Buell in 2006. And i doubt ill ever go back. And we need to find some Beware Jet Intake Stickers. I might be able to make some. I have a couple huge rolls of vinyl graphics for automotive use. Lasts 7 to 9 years in outside applications. I only have gloss black and Bright ass yellow. Ill look into it. |

36, soon to be 37 Male. No military service, but it wasn't for lack of trying. I tried to get into the Air Force (early 90's) to help pay for college, but was rejected due to hearing loss in my right ear.........what, did you say something? It works every time when listening to my wife. |
