I picked mine up yesterday, and had my first real ride today. I was checking the suspension setup after the ride, and ran into a problem on the compression damping for the rear shock. The manual says to dial the set screw all the way in (slick little extension for that in the tool pouch), and then count the clicks bringing it back out. Mine will not snub down at full compression, but just continues to turn - as if it was stripped. Anybody else run into this? Jack |

Yes, turned the Long in for it, but not at Pensacola. I got impatient and drove over to Seminole Buell, near Orlando. Contact Mike there if you are interested in the bike. Jack |

I adjusted mine, for my weight and the colder weather. The screw bottomed fine, with( I think) six clicks per turn. Hope yours isn't stripped, the driver has a ball-end; make sure it's fully seated. Damn, I love this bike. Z |

Jack, Check and make sure that the tool is actually turning....we had that problem with one of the tools..where the driver part connects to the exstension piece...it was just spinning.. Mike |

Mike, You win the prize. The shaft of the extension is rotating at the chuck end. By pulling the shaft out to its limit I could get it to hold well enough to turn the set screw. A little tack weld should be all it takes now. Thanks again! Jack |

When I bought the Ss, I really was looking for a Firebolt Long. I wanted the longer swingarm, and the extra gas - but I also wanted that partial fairing. I had a wonderful time with the Lightning, though. I find that my back is more comfortable with an athletic riding position. My VFR was more comfortable to me than the Lightning was. With the 1125R, I am back to the ergonomic that appeals to me, and I have a power curve that keeps going where the Long's stopped. As good as the Long is, I am more comfortable on the 1125, and I have a bigger grin in my helmet. There is an awful lot of mechanical and aural feedback with the new Buell that is just very satisfying, and there is a constant presence of power that promises to turn you inside out if you let it go. It is in a different league compared to the Long - I am very happy with the bike. Jack |

Jack, I am one of those that feel more comfortable on the 1125r than I did on the Ss. Couldn't agree more, this bike is just awesome! |

Has anyone the likely cause that when I ride my buell x1 Lightning it feels like Im riding a pogo stick!? There doesn't seem to be an oil leak or is it time to regass ?? Cheers Dave (from the UK) |
