Just put 30 miles on, most all in town. Averaged 31mpg, spot between 22 and 57. Given, I still am breaking it in, but that seems pretty reasonable to me. Did notice that the spot mpg at a constant 40mph was running 41-43. |

You guys are discussing fuel mileage....on a sportbike forum....that's sad, just sad. My GSX-R600 gets about 28mpg when I'm beating on it and it's half the displacement with 30+ less horsepower. I guess you guys out West have to deal with "200 miles to the next station", but back here in the East, I'd say we're never more than 40 miles from fuel and that's if you're REALLY in the boonies. Give me MORE POWER!! [grunt like Tim Allen] If I want fuel economy, I'll borrow Barker's scooter. LOL! |

About 27 for me too. Too cold to ride now but there will be a warm(er) days between now and spring. Too many cars hee in Atlanta to woy so much about MPG it more like CYA. And besides that it sure looks cool at the gas pump |

I work at the Hacienda in Scottsdale and we have one. I'm still trying to find a excuse to ride it. |

About 27 for me too. The only thing lower is the temp out side. Way too cold to ride now even with heated hand grips. But there will be a warm(er) days between now and spring. Too many cars here in Atlanta to worry so much about MPG it more like CYA. And besides that it sure looks cool at the gas pump |

I'm with you there, Zac. No excuse needed for me. Last night I rode through fifteen miles of foot deep snow, not on purpose mind you but it was on the road I wanted to ride on. Had to walk it through a few miles but I knew there was more clear road just a little further. She handles better than my XB9S in the snow, not that it is good at all, just better. Thank God for the vacuum assist clutch and heated grips!!! (thank buell) may have been more suitable? I surely would have gone a different route had I known about the snow. Just got too far to turn around. JJ |

Hey Sheridan bueller, I would guess it was wet snow, I use to ride in the snow on dirt bikes, and the wet type snowball snow is awesome, but if you get that light fluffy stuff you just spin out, seen some nice studs on the areostitch.com site, they have like five different sizes, from the street to the dirt bikes, I rode today in Boston and it was like 5 degrees I found out, my temp gauge said 12 but when I went online to check the weather it was ten degrees off, no wonder I had brain freeze. Yep, it was wet and had one set of ruts through it. Looked like it had been there a few days as there wasn't any new snow. Lots of critter tracks. This road is not traveled much by anyone but log trucks but they're not logging or hauling up there right now. The 3 miles of walking the bike was light on top, packed on the road and slushy over the pack and VERY slick. Nasty. I should have turned around but I had to try. It really didn't look that bad. Oh, it was about 2 in the morning too. I've been looking at the aerostich studs, kinda like the idea but I'm afraid it would cause me to do more daring (read stupid) stunts. I did have on my combat lights and 2 piece aerostich suit. Very nice!!! My temp guage was saying it was 39*, judging from the slush and snow I know it wasn't freezing but wasn't far from it. I came back on the other road, it was nice and clear but raining like hell. JJ |
