I was planning on getting my 1125R wrapped once it comes in, does anybody have any negatives on doing this? I want my bike to look different. |

If applied properly I would imagine that there should be no downsides to it... I say go for it |

I'd ask them if they want to apply the material of if they even let you do it yourself. Some vinyl graphics companies will not sell to the user because of the difficulty of getting it applied without trapped air or unnecessary stretching/distortion. Curious. Good way to get some exotic sponsor graphics on the fairings, etc. |

From the FAQ section on their website:
quote:How long does the process take? 10-30 days, depending on the complexity of the design and installation time. Installation typically takes 1-3 days per vehicle. What do I need do to prepare my vehicle? We highly recommend that vehicles are washed in a car wash a few hours before they're brought into our facility for graphics installation. The vehicle should be washed preferably at a place that can use brushes or pressure-washing to remove road grime from the low-lying parts under the wheel well, inside the door panels etc. where dirt usually accumulates. Wax, polish, grease, or grime interferes with the graphics adhesive and therefore must be cleaned-if necessary-using industrial cleaners and/or non-silicone based detergents (any cleaning chemical must be tested on the vehicle in an inconspicuous area to make sure it will not mar the paint surface). Once the vehicle is brought into our facility we clean it with isopropyl alcohol and other chemicals to remove any remaining oily residue, dirt, and contaminants. Special attention is placed on the vehicle's cracks and crevices, where contaminants generally accumulate. We then perform a vehicle inspection and take note of places that have any kind of surface damage like paint scratches, dents etc. This inspection helps as a guideline to ensure that our clients know about any surface problems on the vehicle.
I shot them an email about motorcycles. Didn't see any bike images on their website. I'd have to ship the bodywork to them. On a google search for vehicle wrap vinyl graphics - I got LOTS of more local shops doing this kind of work. (Message edited by slaughter on January 03, 2008) |

The pic I posted is from their website, Steve. I think it was "misc. stuff" or something. Z |

Hmmm... I shoulda looked more closely. I think though, most folks if they haven't worked with vinyl graphic layers are probably going to get pretty frustrated trying to apply it themselves and it looks like Brandon (Kravfighter) lives right near Revolution Wraps so it's not a real stretch for him to leave his bike there for a few days. Curious to hear what he finds out. He got me thinking about this and I'm looking into a local vinyl graphics company for that time that I FINALLY get the bike resurrected. |
