Our customers have asked us to complete our protection line of products with bar end slider kits. We offer these to you in four options: standard, long, aluminum, and Delrin. The bars ends are designed to fit 7/8" OD handlebars with inner diameters ranging from 0.690" (Crossroads) to 0.750" (standard tubular bars including Buell). They are easily installed in minutes with one 3/16" Allen wrench. All kits are complete with sliders, stainless steel mounting hardware for a long lasting, secure fit, and installation instructions. Steve - Perhaps you are correct. However, this is a bit difficult when said advertiser has no access to a Uly. We are a very small company and simply cannot afford to purchase one of every bike. The stock plastic Uly bar ends (which cost maybe $3 each) are pretty clever AND effective at absorbing shock upon impact (they break away). I now carry a spare on the bike. | ||

The bar ends look great and I have your sliders on both XB's. Both bikes however have the brush guards and i for one would want bar ends that allow me to retain them. Just my $.02 Bret | ||

It isn't a matter of length. It's a matter of mass. The higher the mass, the greater the damping effect. | ||

Dear ole Fattie, a big ol' fat bar end is not technically a damper. It is more of a resonant frequency reducer, I think the technical mumbo-jumbo is that it changes the moment of inertia. | ||

I only stated that it damped vibrations. I didn't describe the mechanism by which it did it. So the lower the mass the greater the damping effect?  | ||

The higher the mass the greater the reduction in resonant frequency. A true damper is like what a shock does, where it converts kinetic energy into heat. A true vibration damper would have to generate a counter frequency so that the net effect is zero frequency. Engineers, help me out here. I have a psych degree, which means I am qualified to operate a copy machine, if the voices tell me it's ok. | ||

Shorter bars, like on the "R" models may benefit from longer bar-ends to help protect the frame, fairing and such. |
