Let us all know if you get one and it is the same, if I was a betting man..... My local Buell dealer ordered some OEM filters and he said the price was around $22. (Message edited by xb9 on December 26, 2007) |

Apparently the updated filter is not too popular... so no dealers seem to carry them, at least not the dealers that answer their phones. |

jammer, It's all good. I did not perceive anything bad. I just thought it odd. I'm very easy pray for a salesperson. If they had sent me out on a demo I would have ended up buying it. The three new bikes this year were not from your store but I have spent a butt load on accessories there as you are the only game in town on a sunday. I also buy all my oil and filters from your store. When you say the only Buell Dealer north of Denver, is Sun going to stop selling them? |

There are currently 150 oil filter kits still sitting at the Franklin Distribution center waiting for orders from dealers. So, don't know what more we can do! |

That confirms the information I got from the factory this morning. If you dealer tells you he/she is waiting on an oil filter. . . .ask if they have ordered it. That seems to be the most frequent weak link in the chain. If you bought an 1125r and your dealer does not have TWO oil filters in stock, I'd be looking for a new dealer. Buell is shipping oil filters the day orders are received. Court |

Court thats the issue... I have been to three dealers and none of them have a single one. Although Glendale is officially on vacation so I cannot blame then too much for that. Surprisingly Bartel's, my least trusted dealer has proven to be the most useful... I will try keep the three updated as to what is going on. |

The mothership is currently closed for the holidays and nor orders will be shipped till after the New Year. This could be part of the dealer hold up. Service manuals are set for "future delivery". |

I could be wrong BUT I think that the parts department is working as usual with a small group to ship really needed items. Back in the day a "down bike" order would be processed over the holiday period with little or no issues. |

There is no reason any Buell dealer in the world can not have an 1125r oil filter from Buell by Monday. If you dealer tells you otherwise, drop me a note and send me your dealers name and phone number and I'll get them the information. |

By the way . . . be kind and gentle with your dealer. . . this is a NEW experience for them and I truly don't think any dealer is intentionally trying to mislead or deceive anyone. |

$22 may seem like a deal if you can't find a filter anywhere, but why can't BMC sell an oil filter for less than $10? Price seems a little over the top to me....priced to compete with a Ducati? |

I think the oil filters are so pricey at this point because they are not used on anything else other then the 1125 and the updated Aprilias (assuming that is in fact the case). I am sure once there are more of either of them on the road, and production increases the price will drop. Also after market manufacturers will also emerge with alternatives. |

Court, If you get a chance give Bartel's Harley a call at 1(310)823-1112. They cannot seem to place an order for the filter. Thanks, Peter |

I just confirmed that High Country H-D/Buell ordered 10 oil filters with o-rings a while back and are awaiting their arrival. They will be selling them for $15 retail. |

My dealer just informed me today the case of filters they ordered is scheduled to arrive on the 2nd. Atleast I finally got an answer from them. I don't know if you had anything to do with this, Court, but Thanks if you did. Apparently, they also got a new muffler ? for my bike, it was shipped with the wrong one? 49 state? They said they could install it today, but I was too busy... it will have to wait until next week. Got over 600 miles on her now, so I am needing that new filter, anyways. Bike seems to be running great, inspite of wrong muffler, and questionably accurate oil level! |

I tried to get a filter from Huffman's HD today, they said they don't even have a parts book for the 1125. I guess I will call and order one from Gainesville HD on wednesday |

I thought the first change was oil-only? I could be wrong, don't have a manual in front of me...but filter isn't changed until the second service IIRC. Anyone with a manual please feel free to correct me |
