LaFayette, What I was trying to clarify is that there is one XB oil pump for 2002-2006 bikes and an improved pump with increased scavenging capacity that was introduced for 2007. The 2008's of course use a completely different pump setup. It just occurred to me, I have the parts manual for my 2007 Uly. The improved 2007 oil pump P/N is 26357-02B, which is different from the P/N's previously listed in this thread. |

V74, I guess from what LaFayette's saying, it'd work but you'd have to change the oil line fittings to be compatible with the pump. |

Is there anything actually wrong with the 1999 pumps? My 2000 still seems to pump OK. |

Nate, I think the earlier pumps are fine. The main benefit from the increased scavenging from the new pump might be slightly lower oil consumption (due to the pump keeping the crankcase "sucked out" better) and possibly slightly higher horsepower (less drag on crank due to the pump keeping the crankcase "sucked out" better). It's not like the older oil pump is prone to failure or doesn't put out adequate flow for the engine. |

So what is the deal on the newer pump gear I see advertised on the Buell site? |
