I got it for about $13 at Advance Auto. Sure beats the stock replacement filter price! I had to get out my Craftsman Dremel and cut off the base. I then cut holes for the screws and added a couple gaskets to get the filter to clear the screws. | ||

New to the forum just wanted to throw up some pics after I had done some mods to my bike. So many Riders have asked me what the heck it is (no badges). I tell them and even knowing Buells they disbelieve me still. The single cylinder throws them off not knowing Buell made a single. The Paint unfortunately wasn?t a hot enough paint for the exhaust, should have used VHT 1500* I guess.     | ||

Shearzy: Top notch on foot peg mounts ... Good thought on rear brake set up ... OEM Muffler painted like chin faring and exhaust wrap, very good ... Looks like all you lack is the outlet on the right rear of muffler ??? | ||

Thank you for the warm welcome. The whole project started by needing tires! Next thing I knew the bike was in pieces in my garage! I really had no direction but I had seen a few Blasts customized and thought it had to be done. The rear pegs/mounts started life as a piece of 1/4" steel plate and cut to fit the existing holes that held the guard on. Used 3/8" inner diameter hallow tube for spacers wherever a spacer was needed. Should have used 1/4" but couldn't find any. Everything mounted just as planned on both sides. Shifter linkage is budget right now and just made of 3/16" flat bar, bent and positioned to work for the time being. The rear of the bike was the big project and by cutting a 7 inch section out of the rear fearing moving it forward and fiberglass molded it to the Grey painted sides where the old peg/mounts used to bolt up. Now held on by 8 screws while brake light section is actually held in place by a bracket that was cut off but fit exactly under the rear section bolt holes! The seat was torn apart cut up at lines that are already in the seat pan and the same foam with a thin layer of memory foam and a new more elastic cover was used. All this from needing new tires! LoL... | ||

Here's the latest pictures of my blast. Quite a huge improvement with the Yamaha YFZ450 LED tail light and about 3" or so trimmed off the tail.     | ||

it isn't too hard I suppose.... I had to fabricate my own brackets out of sheetmetal for the tail light, turn signals and license plate, and cut about 3 inches or so off the plastic. not hard... just specialized I suppose. | ||

those are the dominator headlights and an xb s fairing in carbon fiber. I have been considering going with a whole new front setup kinda like Ed's but I know the lighting would be less. these dominators are freakin bright! Ed, how well does your setup light the way? | ||

would anybody here be interested in buying the complete front light setup from my bike? the headlights were $159 plus shipping and the carbon flyscreen was about $75 plus shipping. I would probably do the whole thing for $170 or so shipped including my home made flyscreen brackets. I dunno whatcha guys think? | ||

my system stock is 60 watts - you can go up to brighter by searching for brighter bulbs - but what makes me happy about the system is how it spreads the light - I can still see the road pretty well in dense fog at night and in SF that is a good thing! Buell Blast Sets New Land Speed Record at Bonneville At the 59th annual Bonneville National's Speed Week, August 11-17, 2007, the JDees Performance racing team and their modified Buell Blast motorcycle set a new land speed record in the 500cc Modified Partially Streamlined Pushrod Fuel class (MPS-PF). The average of two runs in the measured mile was 126.959 mph, beating the old record of 124.552 mph. The team now holds eight active Bonneville records with Buell motorcycles. So I was wanting to change up the look of the ole blast and I was able to get it done. I sold off my dominator lights and stuff to fund this reincarnation. So whatcha think? I think it either looks like something off of Alien v Predator, Terminator (when he gets beat up) or a Praying Mantis.
