I am very close to pulling the trigger on an 08 Uly, other bikes under consideration: BMW F800GS, Kawasaki Versys, and this is way out there an 08 KTM 690SM! I used to have a Suzuki DRZ400S and loved the flickability of that bike. I currently have a Triumph Speedmaster (cruiser) which I love and will be keeping ;) The KTM was first on my list, it has 63 HP and only weighs 332#, and its a fuel injected thumper. But ever since I read a ride report on Advrider.com about a guy whose name I think was Dave, who flew up to Anchorage, AK and bought a Uly and rode it home to Dallas, I have been intrigued with the Uly! I can get a KTM 690SM for $8800 out the door, and I was wondering if you all knew what an 08 Uly should cost. I just want it stock, can add on accessories later. I love the cutting edge tech of the Buell, and I love to be different, my cruising buddies will think I've lost my marbles if I buy any of the bikes listed above! |

Hey, interesting list you've got. I really like my Uly (07 model, did I say I really like it?) and if you're considering the thought of buying one you should look at a new 06 or 07 for quite a bit less money than an 08 model. Some say the differences are huge, I've ridden both and would still look at a 06 or 07 if I could get one for 2K less than a new 08 one. If I didn't own this bike (did I say I really like it? no, really?), I probably would have taken a hard look at the Kawasaki Versys for around $6500 or so. Seems like a nice bike for the money. |

Remember that if you have the dealership install the luggage at the time of purchase, they will be covered under the two year warrantee. (I'm pretty sure) |

I got a hell of a good deal on my 08 - bags and all. Less money than what you guys are talking about. Look for the deals in the next few months. Things are getting tight in the heartland. Dealers generally have 3 months of free floor planning and then they have to pay "juice" or interest payments. That sucks for dealers so they will generally cut their losses and cut a deal. Happy hunting. |

Ok, here is my first outing for pricing! Not very good deals IMHO. First Dealer: 06 $10,200 OTD Second Dealer: 07 $11,600 OTD Third Dealer: 08 $12,500 OTD The First dealer really turned me off, I asked the salesman if he had any 08's and he said, no but we have an 07, I said I really wanted an 08, he says, oh, there are no differences, the big differences were between the 06 and 07. Of course I point out the error in his ways. Then I go look at the 07, the knuckle dragger (harley parts guy) says that sure is a tall bike, I say yep, then he says I don't care much for them there Buells, what an idiot, I'm a potential buyer and he is disparaging the bike, Buell, is being hurt IMHO by these Harley people who don't know or care about the Buell's in their shop. |

Just called a dealer to see if I could save some $ if I bought now instead of waiting til March. He called back and said OTD will be $11,600 no tax(out of state). I told him I'll just wait to buy one til March. He said he wants to call me back tomorrow with a better deal. I'll buy it if he comes off another grand + tax, otherwise I'll wait. |

If you will consider used, and can find one in your area, you can save a lot. I bought my '06 Uly used in Sep of '06, with 1,050 miles on it and in showroom condition for about $8600 OTD (no bags). It still has warranty, and it already had the 1,000 mile service done by the dealer I bought it from (H-D/Buell Ocala FL). Saved me $2k-$3k depending on how you look at it. |

How about $10,800 OTD. I pay SC sales tax. This is a 2008, the faster black one. I pick it up this weekend. |

I would buy this one on eBay......looks to be a great deal. Used Uly's are a fantastic value. The guy lists his reserve at $7500...for a 2007 with a Drummer. Thats what I paid used for my 2006 in May of this year. No affiliation with the seller, but someone will get a fine bike if it goes for $7500 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem =&item=230204374681&rd=1 |

I bought my 08' for 11,477 OTD "including Mn sales tax of 6.5 percent, license fees and any other fees." Got it from Hootis29, a member here and GM of Donahue HD/Buell in Brainerd, Mn. Called them up, said what I would give and boom, "when do you want to pick it up?" was the reply. |
