Submitted a 7page Burt Munro Challenge report for Kiwi Rider earlier: http://homepage.mac.com/david_cohen_design/.Pictur es/misc2/munro.pdf And a Couple of pics that I like from this past week. This is our Christmas Card. This is a new one for the 'light' collection: Rest are here http://www.davidcohen.co.nz/painted.html And some test bikes: Thoroughly enjoyed this. Handles as well as mah Buell. And the big momma. Doesn't handle as well as a Buell - but I like the shots still a lot of fun with some wrist action. tres artsy And I covered an eXtreme Race over the weekend. Wow I thought I was a reasonably skillful rider till I watch some of these guys (and girls) and what they can cover. full race set is here http://www.kiwirider.co.nz/xtreme/index.htm Chris Birch won it: Happy clickin' DD |

heeey - I put in for it! I climbed this twice for the shots: http://www.kiwirider.co.nz/xtreme/images/IMG_8763. jpg In leathers - carrying camera and big lumps of glass. And then they rode up it - quite amazing. |

Very nice Dave! I especially like the pix of night lights with the harbor in the foreground. Please post more of your pix... Can you tell us a little more about the event? Is it an annual event? When was it established? Number of attendees? |

The Bert Munro challenge seems like an event I would like to see. Is that an annual race? Sort of like Daytona in the old days. Was there much beer drunk at the event? |

That downed wood section looks like a real ball buster. I raced enduros and hare scrambles for years and never got sent through anything hellish like that. |

>>Very nice Dave! I especially like the pix of night lights with the harbor in the foreground. Please post more of your pix...<< Cheers - Will do. Can you tell us a little more about the event? Is it an annual event? When was it established? Number of attendees?<< It's been running for a few years - since the movie success - I've heard claims that 9,000 attended. No expert - but that sounded optimistic - certainly in the thousands however. I believe it will be an annual event. This one certainly was successful. The weather down there gets better in the new year - no announcements made yet though. It's also half a days ride from the NZ Alps and Fiordland. That is one of the world's great rides. >>Was there much beer drunk at the event?<< No sorry - we sat around and did bible studies and yoga. It was obviously there that I lost my spare camera battery and it had nothing to do with the six cans of Jack Daniels & Cola stuffed in my various pockets. Speights beer is a cultural icon of southern NZ and the trip to the boutique brewery....Nah. Meditation r dave. :-P |

>>That downed wood section looks like a real ball buster. << Man! I had trouble walking through some of it. it was a climb though an obstacle course - pine limbs across small gullies and stuff - and these guys - and girl - ride through it! |

Nice pics.. D-D! However, I would like to make a contribution to your scholarly collection of language skills, artistic talents and all around nice guy... (hmmm.. lost track there, but anyway) oh yes... Fiordland.. nope, it is spelled Fjordland. As in the Fords of Norway... or fjords. Oh well.. Antipodal and all that. Cheers, Asbjorn |

Well, Slathibartfast (D. Adams)is the original designer of fjords and he even won an award for his ingenious and beautiful creation. Look here for a sample... http://www.fjords.com/ ...of his handiwork. By the way. NZ looks a lot like my home country. (Message edited by doerman on December 19, 2007) |
