Just found this website, looks fantastic. I just ordered a Barricade Orange '08 sight unseen from Big Sky HD in Great Falls, MT. I've been following the Uly since first release and finally decided I have got to have one. My '05 Springer Classic is going bye-bye and I'm going MOTO again. I CAN'T wait to take delivery!! |

You will love it. I did the same thing, saw one in a mag., read a bit on it and the next day I went to pick it up. Never looked back. Welcome to the club. Horr |

Congrats Skidplate - You'll find lots of folks on here that traded "up" to Buell from HD. I had an Ultra and after riding a Firebolt for two years, got rid of it for an '08 Uly. I'm sure I'll miss the Ultra if/when I decide to ride across the country again, but this is the best daily commuter bike I've had to date. |

Congrats and welcome to BWB, home of some of the most unruly, but truly helpful Buell riders around the internet. Baricade Orange, if your salesman hasn't told you, is the most adventurous of the colors for a Ulysses, by the way. ~jammer |

I made another post on this thread but I must have done something wrong. Anyway after viewing more and more pics, especially Treadmark's badazz Uly, I called my sales man and changed my order to a BLACK Uly. It appears from the posts here that I will have smaller hordes of wimmenz chasing me but apparently I will have no problem chasing down the escapees on my much faster black bike. Right On. Anyone here live in North central Washington? |

Orange is more sophisticated? That figures. I keep getting told I lack sophistication. Silver Bullets with a tequila back, shooting guns in the house, buying Uly's. Hmm, I chose wisely I reckon. |

the first up-grade for an orange Uly is to get rid of that ugly ass orange seat! That is by far the ugliest seat I've ever seen on a motorcycle before! Thank God they didn't put a two-tone colored seat on the new blue Ulysses. But still BLACK is the best looking color! enjoy your new bike! |

Karlsbad- sounds great brother. Can't wait. We have about 10 billion miles of forest service roads out in the yard, so you'll have to come up here and go for a putt too. |

Speaking of colors...I don't own a Uly but am considering getting one. Are the colored bits on a Ulysses painted, or they color impregnated? At any rate, I'm not sure that any of the current colors are what I would want on my bike in the long term. Black is nice but it needs something to bling it up, like racing stripes or contrasting wheels. I think I would try my hand at painting once I got tired of the stock color. Also, do the side number plates from the TT fit the Uly? |

The color is molded in the plastic itself, so it’s not something you can just sand off. Maximum painted his bike Red, I’ll try and dig up a link for you. The TT things won't fit the Uly as far as I know. |

Congratulations! You're going to love the bike. I've recently added a tuber to the stable to ride around town because it's shorter and as time has gone along I've added farkles, luggage (and thereby weight) to the Uly. Other than that, the Uly was part of a 4 bike stable when I bought it and survived the attrition process to be my only ride for a while...it's that good. If I had a 32" inseam instead of a 29" inseam, it would still be my only ride. |
