This thread has been interrupted for a brief message from one of your friendly BadWeB custodians.

With all due respect, I have to say that I find this post a little unnerving. I understand and accept that this is a Buell enthusiasts forum (of which I include myself, a long-time Buell fan) and that this is absolutely not the place for Buell bashing.

That being said, what we have here is a collection of a very diverse group of riders, some of whom have amazing motorcycling skills and experience. On top of that there are a wealth of designers, fabricators, engineers and mechanics among us.

If you can get past all the drama, this forum is about one of the best sources of feedback for BMC. While Buell bashing is not helpful in any way, I think if people have some concerns or questions than this community should be able to deal with that in a constructive way.

While I don't agree with most of Rocket's views or approach, I think people are WAY overreacting to what he is saying. On top of that, I think it's counterproductive to bash the competition. I think the goal here is intelligent discussion, and bashing the 1125R or a 1098 does not lend itself to that.

Anyway, I defer to Blake—this is his forum, and I would rather participate than be asked to leave. On that note, I think it makes this forum weaker if a little dissention is quashed instead of addressing and debating it intelligently.

For the record, I was shocked when I received the 1125r brochure in the mail. I am very excited about this bike and is in the top three picks for my next motorcycle.

I just wish that posts to the titled topic was what was on here.

I am waiting for my 1125R, which, because of being late on my dealer's list, I won't get until the spring. After reading topics on this web site, I have heard ad-infinatum the bashing of Buell and the 1125R by Rocketman and a few others. There is nothing constructive in that stuff; it is posted with hate and desire to be destructive.

I have never seen an anonymous posting that denigrated anyone for a reasonable opinion. The lash backs when they do infrequently come, are when the bashing has become vicious and denigrating to Buell and the employees. Certainly opinions are crucial, and as one who has owned a number of Buells, I think the company listens and makes the products better every year.

So a posting saying "I wish the muffler was better styled" is not likely to get a retort. I don't think I've ever read one. In fact I'm sure there are folks at Buell who agree. But maybe they had a certain list of goals and priorities, and they couldn't fix the looks and meet more important goals. And, when, after all is said and done, the number one replacement on any motorcycle is the exhaust system/muffler, maybe they decided "Why sink a bunch more money and weight into something that is going to be thrown away?

And I don't think anyone is going to negatively react to a posting that says "I wish Buell would build a version of the 1125 with a full fairing; I only buy full-faired bikes and would seriously consider buying one if they did that." But when someone like Rocketman posts things saying, and I paraphrase here, "a fairing can't be put on the bike because Buell's chassis design is a joke as any buffoon would know".

Come on now, there can't be anyone on here who really reads the posts that thinks this is constructive or worthwhile, can there? Please tell me there are only a few forum members as rude and unfair as Rocketman? I think Blake is extremely mild in his responses to Rocketman and his troll cronies, myself, and wish I didn't have to read this guy's endless on-line masturbation.

I want to hear more riding impressions so I can live the 1125R vicariously until mine arrives! And I'll probably modify some things on mine, but I won't be calling the Buell team buffoons while I am doing it.

Get your facts straight before you go calling for my head.

Here's exactly what I said, and frankly I see a lot of compliments in my words. Encouragement to. All be it harsh, but man do you seriously need to read better.

So you're saying you could have made the 1125 more aerodynamic but you chose not to? Any buffoon with a modicum of knowledge about motorcycle design can see where the design constraint lies. Steep steering angle and short wheelbase. Big fat muffler. Oil cooler. No place left for a radiator, right? Those goofy pods and side mounted radiators are a compromise over what is ideal, and that is also the reason the top half of the fairing has been concentrated on for allegedly better flow. Argue it another way. Why not as others have suggested, put a full fairing on the 1125 and call it a sportsbike? Could it be that not only would it not sell to the Buell demographic, it would get its arse kicked against the litre bikes? Whatever Buell can do, they can't bullshit me.

Then to top it all, you want me to believe the Japanese can't do aerodynamics? Oh man, there's no wonder these arguments flare up with you guys. You're so full of yourselves it's pitiful. Build a freaking Buell the world wants. Not some compromise of shoehorning an ill at ease engine in the wrong chassis. Put the freaking engine in a tube frame and quit screwing around trying to prove the dumb XB chassis works. The world accepts the XB for what it is. It proved it can make a relatively underpowered engine work well in a cool chassis. Now duck it off and build a proper bike now you've got something like a half decent motor, otherwise yet again Buell will see about as much success as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest.

What a good job you're not in the motorcycle business is all I can say. At least my comments offer direction. You're problem is you're addicted to kool aid.

What Rocket said.

Unbelievable as it may seem to my American friends, they do have wind tunnels in Japan. In fact, would you believe Moto Guzzi, yeah I know they're in Italy, well they had a wind tunnel in the 1950's.

Fortunately (for me that is) Wikipedia lists it HERE otherwise my knowledge of motorcycles would no doubt be called to question by the kool aid and the gang.

Yeah, what Rocket said.

Ah but being that I fly solo around here, sometimes one is forced to take drastic measures.

Now how about we debate the design constraints of the 1125 intelligently, or are we really to believe Buell put 'elephant man (bike)' on the motorcycling cat walk.

And how about this thread not be buried within another as a sub topic, or is that too much limelight for the kool aid and the gang?

No, I have NOT rode an R1 or gsxr 1000, neither a Duc.

I have ridden a gsxr 750, a RC51 with a PC, and others, too. This thing will smoke anything I have ridden , and thats just keeping it under 8,000 rpm.

Would that be a circa 1985 GSXR750? Please say yes, because the last few years model GSXR750's have set the benchmark on track (it's common knowledge why), bettering its big brother.

The weed crop must be awfully good this year in the US

Rocketman,

Did you miss the point of there now being a separate place for "..off-topic rancor and related blathering..."?

You could have posted a link to the post there to quibble about the specifics of his impression or opinion if you feel it is absolutely necessary to do so.

Otherwise, it is nice to get this thread back on track and read the inputs. I really like the comparisons or references to other mounts.

Rocket, you couldn't possibly be any more of an ass if you tried. And it's obvious you are trying.

You haven't rode one, and i'm not doing a track comparo.

I was comparing acceleration feel, not track times.

late 90's gsxr.

98?

Why would you think anyone who has rode one is a liar or incapable of giving honest subjective analysis?

I give a good review of my new bike and you stoop to insinuating I am a drug addict? Grow up!

Your pettiness and jealousy are becoming ridiculously childish at this point.

Well Jack, I don't see the BadWeB function at times the way you, or Blake come to it, do. You guys might well want everything pro Buell wrapped in cotton wool, but I want a Buell that responds to factual information, puts the record straight, tells it like it is. So when Bigblock says "I have ridden a gsxr 750, a RC51 with a PC, and others, too. This thing will smoke anything I have ridden , and thats just keeping it under 8,000 rpm", then surely as a knowledgeable person about all thing two wheeled, well I just have to question the reality of such astonishing remarks. Therefore, the place to do so is in the thread those remarks were made, and not buried in some sub topic heading where only those interested in pissing around for no good reason are likely to want to go. What's to hide from anyway?

The problem we have here is the kool aid and the gang (you're one of them), the anonymous, and those in the ivory tower up in Wisconsin, put their heads up their arse as they take such questioning as a slight towards things Buell. Why can't there be an amount of placation returned? Why not engage in rebuttal in a sensible manner. Do you guys not have the facts? Is that it? Maybe for some reason you guys are afraid the truth will expose some major floor in the company or the product? After all, if things at Buell are so damn good, and the 1125 is such a great performing motorcycle, why the animosity from the pro Buell lobby when I ask the deep searching questions? Surely Buell have all the supporting data they need to make good or even close to some of the stratospheric claims we're seeing this past few days on the BadWeB from 1125 owners or wannabe test pilots? And let's face it, the Buell brass are here representing themselves and their products, so if they can manage to be here, why can't they manage to share politely the relevant information, and douse the flames if there are any? Why in fact do they throw fuel on the fire instead?

Spike asks anon, "any chance you could post the charts for us"?

Watch my point get proven when that doesn't happen. And even if it did, and a dyno chart appeared out of nowhere (sorry, somewhere), from their older R1? Hmm, convincing!!!

Bring me the head of Rocket Pepper

Bigcock, it's not even worth mentioning a late 90's Gixxer 750. The difference between one and the most recent Gixxer 750's is night an day.

My questioning such commentary supports my point entirely. Gross misrepresentation is what you wrote. Hell, my S1W would have a good go at the antiquated mid size super bike you were referring to. See the difference? Smell the bullshit? Now I know roughly the age of Gixxer it seems less likely the weed crop had anything to do with your comment. Pays to state things more clearly doesn't it.

Making a statement is one thing, but telling people they have their head up their arse for not agreeing with your point of view is foolish and non-productive. It's great you have an opinion that you want to share, but no need to get mad and start being rude if your opinion isn't shared or is disputed, especially by those who either helped design, build or have actually ridden the bike.
This reminds me of so many other boards when a new model is released, there is always those who would have done many things better. Are you an engineer or designer for one of the other bike companies or just some average guy who thinks he's been blessed in the brain department and the rest of us (including Buell's engineers) are just ignorant dummies. If thats so I would think you would not really want to waste your valuable time with us when you could be enlightening others who are smart enough too understand and recognize your brilliance. Just MHO.

I stated things perfectly clearly you pissante little Brit.

I gave my RIDING IMPRESSIONS, and compared to what I have ridden. I didn't know I had to get totally specific with the actual exact year and modifications of every bike I have ever ridden.

In my foolishness, I thought I was giving an honest riding impression to all those interested in hearing about it. I didn't realize I would be defending my self against attack by the ideology of all things rocket.

You interpret things in your stoned brain in such a way so you can stir up as much shite as possible and be as insulting as you can.

I never said it would blow off a new 1,ooo cc anything, nor did I give a track comparison.

The RC51 was a well setup bike with pipes and a power commander and the latest maps downloaded for the specific set up. It was a lot faster than a stock RC51, and it was new 3? years ago. An '03 or '04?

No comparison, the 1125 will SMOKE that thing straight line.

Gross misrepresentation is ANYTHING you have to say on the subject, as you have not rode an 1125R yet.

>>> I thought we were all grown men.

That's be an inaccurate statement.

The 1125r is an excellent motorcycle, well developed and it'll be the biggest selling Buell in 25 years.

The factory (and you are being to kind assuming that any anonymous post is from the factory . . . they're not) would never post comparative data.

Just as the folks at Ducati have a stable full of Buells, the folks at Buell own about one of everything.

However they are also smart enough to know that it would be impossible to do any sort of meaningful comparison.

The magazines, trust me on this, will be testing the 1125r against everything they can get their hands on in the coming months. . . they are requesting copies of the bike in record numbers.

The true test of the 1125r will be not on the race track but in the market place . . . owner satisfaction is much more important than podium finishes when you are in the business of selling motorcycles.

The 1125r is an excellent and a well developed motorcycle that is among the most sophisticated made.

Until Buell gets off its ass and starts producing bikes with cup holders they will never be a serious competitor.
