So my bike fell over in the yard yesterday. The kickstand went through the ground. It rained really hard and there was strong wind as well. It shouldn't have hurt anything, it was just grass, hopefully. Problem is, I haven't been able to get it up yet, lol. I was on my way to work in the morning when I saw it and it was raining so I couldn't do much. I came home and wasn't able to get it up by myself. So I have to wait until later this afternoon so my dad can help. Am I going to have any trouble with fluids being where they're not suppose to be? Is there anything I should do? And how long until I should start it? Thanks.

you'll probably have a bit of oil on the clutch, so it won't feel right for a little while........But I'm with Treadmarks, never ever leave your bike down.

Well it's up now. The problem was it was STUCK in the ground and on a slight decline. So the peg and foot stand had to be pulled from the ground, then the bike had to be lifted probably 55-60 degrees because of the angle. Anyway, I couldn't get it up by myself so I had to wait. So the clutch might act a little funny? How so?

Maybe you should look into one of these

It's sold for the Ulysses, but I don't see why it wouldn't work on any Buell.

I just carry a 4x4" piece of 1x4 in my bag. If it's really hot and I have to park on hot pavement, or in wet grass, I put the sidestand on my wooden 'puck'. I learned that trick when I was 7 and my BMX bike's kickstand sank into hot asphalt and she went over. Of course, I just pulled that particular kickstand off the bike and started using trees to park...but that's not really an option on the Buells, LOL.

mine fell over a week after I brought her home. There was a slight incline in my driveway and she was facing nose downhill. I started her up and walked into the garage only to hear the infamous crash.

I now pay very close attention to inclines with my baby.

Since they have wet clutches, I doubt if oil on it would be much of an issue. I think the biggest risk is that of having oil seep past the rings. But being a dry sump that is not too big an issue either.

I'd say stand her up, check for leaking gas or other fluids, check all of the fluids, including brake fluids. Leave it set for an hour or so and crank her up and listen for bad things. Then test everything before riding away. Brakes, clutch, primary oil, oil level, and make sure the stand isn't bent as to be another problem.

Last year I got a load of dirt(50/50) and filled in some low spots and holes. I got hit hard by Rita and lost several trees that left some pretty big holes. Anyway, I used the rest to fill in some low spots. Where I parked the 12r was actually a former low spot that I had filled. I've been parking there with no problem in the past. It just so happened the kickstand was in a real soft spot. All the surrounding ground has proven to be plenty hard. It did break a mirror but that's the only damage. I haven't ridden it yet as it is pretty cold, but I'll let it sit another day or two and hopefully everything will be fine.

Gee, I would think the sudden adrenaline rush of seeing your bike lying down would give you a small window of super human strength with which to lift your bike back up.

That usually worked for me : D

It happens to us all. I brought mine home and it fell over in the wind the next morning before I ever got to ride it.

I'm just basing the clutch issue on what mine felt like when it body slammed me a few months ago. Just didn't act like it was engaging fully, either way good to hear she's alright. Broke my mirror too, down at the fairing mount. I ended up drilling a couple of holes in it and putting some pins in as reinforcement, then secured it all together with some J.B. Weld.

I have one of these, it works great on the Uly. I am sure it could fit others as well.
