Every successful manufacturing company relishes customer feedback. It seems many threads here for the 1125R keep getting dragged into what should have been threads. Current adopters are rightfully defensive of their purchases as most anyone would be. So why not make a thread where BMC can get good honest feedback from owners that would like to see improvements for their next purchase. Also ideas from motorcycle enthusiast that want a 1125R but are waiting for (X)? i.e. muffler exhaust pointed in a different direction? | ||

My 2 cents, full fairing, exhaust angled out away from brake and wider tail section. Though I'll change this on my own so im not to worried, but it would be nice to have that out of the factory. Save me the buxxx | ||

I have missed my '99 M2 ever since I sold it and "went to the dark side". Now that I have also let go of my '04 FXDX, I am pining away, remembering the elevated pulse rate every time I spotted an S3T. As so many others have chimed in, I want to go on record for stating that I want to see Buell kick ASS! when they set their sights on a sport-touring model. Gotta believe there's a market. Meanwhile I am (not so) patiently waiting and saving. | ||

FULL FAIRING and a wider tail section. Don't just talk about the great aero of the racing Buell of 25 years ago...add a fully aero dynamic fairing that incorporates the air scoops. Maybe Buell can become THE aero bike...now that it also has a motor that can compete with the rest. | ||

They certainly peaked my interest when I heard about the engine, but I'm not impressed with all the carryover parts. I bought an XB12 in 2004, and a lot of the 1125 is the same. I guess I was probably hoping this Buell would be the next one they come out with. I guess you can't expect a company the size of Buell to really give the big 4 something to worry about so quickly in it's history. Basically all my problems with this bike have to do with the looks. 1. The pods. Come on, somebody in the design team had to be kicking and screaming about those things. How about a full fairing with the radiators exposed on each side like the RC51? 2. The exhaust. Nobody said that was terrible? I wasn't a fan of the XB exhaust either, but at least it was hidden away so nobody could see it. Why highlight such an eyesore with the double stainless tips. Lets go understated, and almost un-noticeable. 3. Carryovers. This bike looks like an XB with a new front fairing. I'm sure the business decision was made to use all of these carryover parts to save costs because of the large costs associated with the engine, but I would have been standing in line for a 2009 completely redesigned release. | ||

Yep. Just my opinion and I know a lot of people are very happy with it too. This is not the bike that will bring Buell the market share necessary to really compete in the sportbike market. I would love nothing more than to drop $13K of my hard earned money on a unique powerful American made (assembled anyway) sportbike, and with the right bike I'm sure a lot of other people would too. The problem is the Buell product life cycle for the XB is now in its 6th year of production, and many of the parts of the 1125 are from a 6 model year old bike. The sportbike industry is a 2 year product life cycle market, and all of the carryover parts are a real let down for a pretty spectacular motorcycle otherwise. A normal, ovoid STAINLESS STEEL muffler. If it looks ugly (or uglier than what is on there now) then cover it up with a lower cowling. I know I keep harping on this, but in 2008 there is no excuse for an exhaust system that can get covered in rust in less than a year. It makes the whole bike look "cheap." | ||

Full Fairing, or chin spoiler for the exhaust and smaller pods. Larger tail or smaller fairing. |
