Forgive me if I missed this along the way, but is the '07 reflash no longer possible to have done by the dealer? The reason I ask, I went to the dealer to have it done, and they said the new software/computer combo issued by Harley and REQUIRED to be used by the dealers no longer allows keying in a fake VIN - it queries the ECM to figure out what year it is. Is this true? Dangit all if it is. |

Along with eeprom file (.epr) is a .TXT file The 2 of them live in C:\Program Files\EcmSpy\eprom EcmSpy will not see .epr file with out .txt file. Does anybody have this so I can flash up to "07" eeprom. Both are created when a Backup is done in EcmSpy. |

I see it for the race ecm, not the stock 07. Just need someone to do a Backup using EcmSpy for either a "07" or "06" reflash to "07" eeprom. Thanks to who ever is hosting those files, but its incomplete for use, for stock configuration. |

Daveymac, Look again, it has been reorganized. The stock 2007 fuel map is there and both files from a 2006 that was reflashed to 2007. |

Joe solo, There are two versions of the VDSTS software. The less expensive one locks itself to one ECM and can only be used on that one ECM. It also has fewer features than the more expensive one. The cheaper version cannot be used for changing the fuel maps or reflashing the ECM EEPROM. The more expensive one can handle multiple ECM/bike, but it requires a hardware dongle in order to work. It also unlocks the features that allow you to play with the fuel maps. ECMSpy is a utility developed by Buell riders in the UK (I think). It does everything that the VDSTS does (and maybe even more). It is a free download, but requires a different cable than the VDSTS. |

Packdog, I dont see the .txt file three files needed to do a total reflash 1. fuel map ending in .msq 2. eeprom ending in .epr 3. text file ending in .TXT your page at the top has two of three needed? EcmSpy will not load the eeprom epr file without the corrasponding .TXT file Can \ Would someone email me this .txt file Please to dwm101857@yahoo.com Sorry if I sound like a Pain in the A$$, But if you do a full backup of EEPROM & MAP 3 files are created. Thanks for your time DaveyMac (Message edited by daveymac on December 16, 2007) |

I think the fuel map is within the eprom file. Backup up the EEPROM data The EEPROM data contains all the read/write data within the ECM. Saving the EEPROM data will save everything, you do not need to save the Fuel Maps separately, except for convenience. All the Fuel Maps, Ignition Maps, TPS value, AFV value etc are contained somewhere within the EEPROM data. All other pages in ECM Spy are simply there to help you find the appropriate part of the EEPROM and understand which values you are modifying. Instructions here |

OK, lets try this again. I have a 06 loaded with 06 map & eeprom. I want to flash up to 07. I can not load 07 file(epr) without the {07.txt}. which is differant than my {06.txt & .epr} ! Each {.txt} is created with {.epr} when backing up eeprom with EcmSpy. Can someone e-mail me there {07 .txt file}. |

Hi Daveymac, I just sent you the whole set of files. The ones that Packdog posted for the 2007 are from my bike. Let us know how it works. Glenn |

ECMSPY can read these files. You just don't have the proper program to read them. If you put them in your ecmspy folder then pull them up using ecmspy they should be readable. |

Does any one have the files for the race ecm? Thanks Go up five or so post's click on the link. All ecmspy files have to be put in the proper folders within EcmSpy program on your C:\ drive. For the software to see them |

Before I reflash my ECM with the '07 map, I have a question. How much better is the '07 map and new airbox than the '06 with original airbox? |

Night and day difference from what i've heard. I ended up going open airbox and full race kit from stock 06 setup, and that also was night and day. |

How much better is the '07 map and new airbox than the '06 with original airbox? I had the 07 reflash done after the 07 airbox install. Before the reflash my fuell economy dropped from around 42 mpg to 32 mpg, the bike didn't feel like it ran right. After the flash everything came back to normal. If you have the new style airbox you need the reflash IMHO. |

Okay. Finally home for a few days. I got the ECMspy cable, and I have a working connection with my Uly. But, when I try to download the proper maps on my computer (eeprom d-loaded fine) the .txt file, and the .msq file opened a new browser window with the information displayed on there. What program or application am I missing to make this download properly? |

Vagabond: Try right-clicking on the link, and choose "Save Target As..." This should let you save the file to the filesystem rather than having IE open the file internally. Hope that helps. |

Can someone tell me what folder to put those files in? I am going to update my '06 ECM to the '07 tomorrow, and I also have a Race ECM that I want to try and can use ECM Spy to reset the TPS. I have a K&N, '07 airbox, and Drummer. --Sean |
