I lost my cell on a ride this morning that covered about 150mi. Anybody know of a way to locate it through GPS or some other 'techno-means', it should still be on with a fully charged battery. I've been laid off a while and don't really have any income to spend to find or replace it, "free" would be the operative word.

Thanks in advance, any assistance is appreciated.

Have you tried calling it?

You may find someone wanting to return it to you.

Failing that contact your network provider.

They may be able to locate the area it transmits from and inform the police.

If the sim card is moved to another phone it will also transmit the id of the phone it is transferred to and then perhaps the owner of the new phone.

Also you had better restrict the types of calls that can be made from it or you will be faced with a phone bill as well as the new phone cost.

If you call it and it is out of service (does not ring and take a message) it may not have survived the fall or drop. If it was on I'd call it e very few hours or so for the next day or two.

Then I'd give up and have it turned off (usually no charge for that) or have the account shifted over to a new phone.
