Why are bikes being shipped to dealers that do not have customers deposits, and some dealers that have deposits can't get bikes? WHY? was just told my bike has been pushed out another month (actually two months, but January deliveries are "on time"....so I get to bump # 2 on the list to Feb. |

My frustration exactly Bob. My dealer has confirmed deposits numbering in the double digits. No bikes arrived yet and three are supposedly on their way. Other dealerships have received bikes, as many as four. I can not speak for those dealers deposit situation, but they are on the floor for sale. It is very difficult for me not to go to the other dealer and buy one. I won't do it. Loyalty counts. But it would have been great if HD distribution had taken Pegasus status and number of deposits into account in their distribution strategy. Buyers abhor a vacuum - a vacuum created by what appears to be a poorly thought through distribution strategy. Asbjorn |

If another dealer is close to the area, why don't you just ask them to do a dealer trade..... esp if they have more then one available for sale! |

Prior to the July dealer's meeting, someone posted an internal HD/Buell notice that mentioned dealers could place their orders for upcoming new models, including something to the effect of an "unnamed but soon-to-be-released model" which was obviously the 1125R. There was some verbiage about dealers who ordered site-unseen would get preference over dealers who placed their orders later. I'd say the problem is your dealers chose not to order the bikes until later. The dealerships receiving bikes "pre-ordered" theirs and that's why they're getting first priority. I don't think it's Buell's fault that you haven't gotten your bikes yet. |

Hugh, I was told that my dealer placed an order for 25 sight unseen. So that's not the issue in my case. |

There is complete seperation between "dealer orders from factory" and "customer orders from dealer". The factory never sees evidence of a customer deposit. The factory only sees dealer orders with a six digit number, an estimated build date, and dealer credit status. Just like there's no mechanism in place for dealers to track vehicles once they have left the factory, there is no mechanism in place for the factory to track whether a particular order number has a customer deposit assigned to it. Bikes are being shipped according to dealer allotment. If your dealer sold you a bike last year, but it was the only Buell they sold, then they're going to be pretty far down the allotment list (not saying that's the case, just using it as an example). Dealers who moved a lot of Buells in past years are receiving the first bikes from the factory. |

yes, I do find that odd no rice....Appleton was or is one of the leading dealers in the US of A! you would think that with the "slow flow" off the production line that BMC would get one bike out to each dealership regardless of dealer "status". I also understand that one of the local dealers is expecting a 2nd shipment next week when "my" dealer still has not gotten 1st shipment. this is just speculation, since no dealer has had accurate information yet. There is complete seperation between "dealer orders from factory" and "customer orders from dealer". Were'nt the dealer orders placed before any of us placed any deposits anyhow? |

Same thing happened with the Uly I was only supposed to get 2 between Sept and Jan that year. I already had 5 deposits and more deals cooking! I was pissed! The phones were a ringin! This time of year, they normally ship the first bikes to dealers in warmer states than cold snowy states. Kind of makes sense on the surface but when you consider that some of the best Buell dealerships are in Northern states it makes it a little silly? |

We're not exactly warm here in MD. Actually I'm watching weather.com to see how much frozen snot we're going to get dumped on us Sat/Sun...they're calling for up to 5 inches of combined...junk. Wheeee. |

DaveS, Thanks again for giving Ferris and me one of those very few early ULYs for FBRAT. That windshield was a really nice touch too. |

Got mine today. I'm in Colorado. It's snowing. There's one without an owner at High Country. Sure is bad looking with all the afterbirth removed. Z |

Why should they ship to dealers with deposits? Those guys are already sold. Business is business. And it ain't fair. Just a thought. |

But to keep paying costumer as return costumers HD should realize that there needs to be a system in place that sends bikes to people that have already bought them first. I was deployed so when my bike was delayed I did not care. My 1125R arrived the day before I did so I was stoked. |

Uh.. Mine was shipped to my dealer.. and it's now waiting for me (I have a REALLY GOOD dealer) and didn't have penny one put down on it. I'll handle that when they ask for a down, or whatever. Now, if only the weather would cooperate, I'd go pick 'er up and ride 'er home.. I don't know about shipping to dealers with money down first, I think Buell kind of 'looses control' of the shipping times after the bikes are delivered to distribution, I would think at that time, they are on the H-D plan for delivery. So it's possible the 1125's in question, missed the truck (for whatever reason) so some dealers with money down customers didn't get them until others already had. Just a bad timing thing, no malice or bad intent.. Hey, it's Christmas time.. the bikes are coming.. some are already out in the wild.. it's a good thing! |

If you're nice and it's not cold enough for you to stick to the seat, we can pull it outside and let the bike make the vroom-vroom noises for you |
