Called the local dealer to see if the first 1125R is out the door. They are in the middle of the deal and are waiting for Harley credit to call them back.

They wait....
They wait....
They wait...

Finally they dealer calls Harley credit back and are told they have no idea what model it is????
"Its a Buell 1125R"
"A what?"
"Its the new Buell"
"We haven't heard of that"

Now thats FUNNY....

Its ok, when I sold the XB12STT last year, we had to have a supervisor add it to the drop down menu . (even though the bike had been announced 2 months earlier)

When I bought mine they had to approve it as a 12S. My salesman called to be sure they wouldn't kick the approval out when it came time to finance, they assured him they wouldn't.. and it went thru finally

Welcome to the world of Harley-Davidson... if you worked at a dealership, I think you'd find LOTS of things that Harley doesn't do.... it's just they keep it out of the public eye.

Why HD credit @ 13.99% as on their website when most banks are going around 7-8%. Just wondering? Bob

The credit is tied to the vehicle and your credit score, the vehicle is considered a "recreational" vehicle and has interest accordingly such, the rest is based on the 3 bereaus reporting your scores (whick may not always be correct or infalliable) Money being money, always research the best options for your own purchase. But Harley Finance does a pretty good job of competing with credit bureaus against the same loan.

Unless things have changed in the past 9 months,
HD credit "upcharges" interest rates on Buell loans at least 1% over what they would loan the same person, the same amount (or more) on a HD.
I called, yelled and screamed BS for years and never got anywhere trying to fight it.

HD and Buell need to get HD Credit to make it easier to buy a Buell, not harder.

I went to a dealer in FL and was asking to see the new 1125R. The first three salesman I asked didn't have a clue what I was talking about! I had to go back to the service dept. Then I had to explain in great detail what and why I wanted to see "the new Buell" Then the guy started talking about how ugly the bike was and how the pipes stuck out too far. Now thats sad.....

Slicker, Harley does not do a good job competing on interest rates. They are much higher than a good credit union or bank.

Harley credit (Eaglemark Savings Bank, Reno) is NOT a division of Harley.

It's kinda like complaining about a chrome company in Canada not knowing about the 1125R - even though they supply pipes to Harley.

Yeah, HD ought to check this stuff out but it's still not a huge surprise - these folks are finance-heads (is that a word?) and not motorheads.

Harley credit (Eaglemark Savings Bank, Reno) is NOT a division of Harley.

Eaglemark is a business unit of Harley-Davidson Financial Services, Inc., a provider of value-added financial services to manufacturers, retailers, and consumers of motorcycles. While Harley-Davidson Financial Services roots lie in Harley-Davidson's legendary motorcycles and related products, the company has expanded its customer base by providing retail financing to aircraft enthusiasts.

Headquartered in Chicago, Harley-Davidson Financial Services, Inc. employs a staff of more than 600 people with offices in Carson City, Nevada and Plano, Texas. The Eaglemark Operations Center is based in Plano.

Bamaboy,

That was Fletcher's that doesn't know anything about the 1125? I noticed they were your dealer in your profile. If so, that's sad, because I was there some years ago and they were really into Buell.

i think that fletcher's is a bit more buell freindly than jim's is over there. i know the sales manager over at my daugher's store is even a bit more buell friendlier. she called to tell a girl came in and bought one yesterday. bama, if you want someone to talk to, shoot me an email.

They do need to speed up, we run head to head financing with the credit unions, and I always encourage people to check them both out (helps increase my sales numbers) And if you have a standing history and loan activity with a credit union, then the c.u. will usually give you preferential treatment as a repeat customer. but new app, to new app, we are getting over 50% . So run them both and go with whoever gives you the best rate, terms, and financing limits. What ever it takes to help you add that new bike to your riding adventure.

It's paid off now. I'm waiting on the 1125 Ulysses. : )

My deal is a lot different than most. I ordered my 1125r on OCT 15th and wont take delivery until May(I'm in iraq until then). As far as I know I had no problems with Harley credit. Of course the amount I said I was financing was only $3000, But still. Maybe the Military car sales did a bit more work to get it smoothed over and I didn't have to bother with the small details.
