I origionally had planned on getting a 2008, only because of the changes that were made over the 2007. I know that this has been asked before, but I have the money for a new or used 2007 now and will have enough for a 2008 by the end of Feb. or March. How significant are the changes and are the worth it for 2000-3000 extra? I don't mind waiting if it will be worth it as winter is setting in now, well somewhat, high 70's earlier this week and low 40's this weekend ( crazy a$$ weather). I know some of you have already upgraded to a 2008 from a 2006. Is the difference noticeable, and worth the extra money? I know the main changes are heated grips, heat deflectors, front end, red line, and no tps resets.(closest dealer for tps resets is 1.5 hr. drive). Any opinions are welcome and appreciated. Hey, maybe I can find a used 2008. |

If you have the money, get the 08'. Otherwise, any Ulysses is an awesome bike to possess period. I'd love to have an 08, but my 06 is everything I need it to be...now to find a track weapon... |

I think that you should hurry up and wait for the '08 (of coarse I would wheel and deal to try getting an '08 right now)! |

I went through that same decision process - had the money for an 08, but in the end went with the 06 for a couple reasons: --Fitted out the way I want, the price diff was about $4,500 more for the 08 --The Triple clamp (or tree, or yoke or...) mod will take care of the biggest issue I had with the 06/07's YMMV but for me I could not find a enough reasons to offset the additional dollars. But that is just me. Remember the important thing is to go orange...4 out of 5 dentists agree they are the fastest. |

I was able to get the complete set of hard luggage thrown in on my 07 for free in addition to already talking the price down. I then spent $150 on the 08's OEM heated grips vice spending $1200 on luggage for an 08. I rode both the 07 and 08 prior to making my decision, and decided I couldn't tell THAT much of difference "seat of the pants" except the steering lock which in my opinion wasn't a deal breaker. While the improvements for 08 are noteworthy, I've been completely satisfied with money left to burn on customizing. 2500 miles, no problems, no regrets. Just my opinion. Good luck on your decision. |

I spent $10,750 on my '07 OTD, which includes our county's 6.5% sales tax. As I figured it at the time, I saved just over $1,500 or so vs. the '08 I was looking at - besides, the '08 was blue and the '07 was the faster black ... very cool! What really fried my a$$ was the dealer with the '08 wanted to charge me for set up... yeah, right. I don't think you can go wrong either way really, they're both good bikes ... but, for me, it was the dealer and the extra $1,500 that turned me off to going with the other guy. I might have spent the xtra $ if the dealer was nicer. Al-in-all, I'm very happy with the faster black '07 Uly. . |

When I'm ready to buy, I will call all dealers within 2-3 hrs. for the best deal. If I get an '08, I'm thinking 11k OTD including taxes. (Message edited by chrisgrant on December 13, 2007) |

I must be the 1 of 5 dentists who think the black is faster. |
