Hey everyone! Drake sent me a link to this forum. I figured i'd stop in to say hello. I just bought my 1st Buell this past weekend a '03 XB9R. All of my previous riding experience has been on metric bikes, and I have to say thing thing is just too much fun to ride. |

Eagle, What did you think of the 1125R after seeing it in the flesh? I am anxious to see one in real life. |

It was very cool. The engine was never fired up but it felt good. Tony went over almost everything on the bike. He was a very down to earth guy. Still the 1125R is the cat's meow. It got major attention. But that's my two cents. So when you see it in the flesh you will not stop looking at it. Here's a cutaway they had.

Eagle, That cut-away is awesome. I would really like to see that up close and examine all the details. One time I toured the Harley Plant in Kansas City and saw a cut-away of the V-Rod motor. What a totally different way to look at a engine and see how it works! Etsoneup, I hear ya...me too. |

(last pic) Ah.. the Holy Grail. Don't know the Yamaha dude, but he's telling me it doesn't have the variable-lengh velocity-stack like the 08 R6. So I explain, the no need for such trickery on a eight valve V-twin to get low and high end torque, and thats why you are getting high sided from your instant power in a corner, the smooth linear power of a V-twin is like traction control. Oh... buy the way hold those R6 ass kickin throttle blades open. |

Brian, You ROCK! Drake, did you by any chance keep your pitbull bike stands when you sold your Firebolt, if so, wanna' part with them...? If you guys like cut away engines, you should hit the Tulsa Air & Space Museum, they have a cutaway of a radial engine...with and electric motor on it so you can watch it spin over. And, if you are a motorhead like me, Hallmark made a cutaway HD Evolution Ornament that runs, spark plug fires too! |

If anyone is interested in reading a good motorcycle adventure book. Pick up "Two Wheels Through Terror" Whitehorse Press. This guy took a trip to the end of South America and back on a KLR 650, 25,000 miles in 8 months. During the trip spent 5 weeks as a kidnap victim in Colombia (I've spent time in Colombia, the people are great just got this small revolution thing going on for the last 50 years). He made this trip around 2001 I think. Anyway a good read. |

Jason, Yes, I still have my PitBull Stands, but plan on keeping them for the next bike. Also, I have seen that engine at the Air Museum. Pretty unique! |

Motomut, The show was in Ft Worth between the 9 and the 11th. They're traveling to all different locations. That was the closest one. Plus you show your key you get a free gift. A 25th Anniversary Buell patch! |

Awe man, I got the flyer for the show, I didn't know about the patch! I noticed the Firebolt at Route 66 has a signature/25th anniversary plaque on the upper triple tree. |

I know it's a bit early, but has anyone thought about riding up to East Troy for the 25th Anniversary? |

The East Troy trip would be great if you can fit it in the schedule; I went by the factory the week after home coming and it sounded like they had a really good turn out. |

Yeah, I think it would be a good year to go, especially being the 25th Anniversary and all. Seriously thinking about it. |

Mike, When you visited the factory, did you get to take the tour? Brian. |

Brian, No tour; I was told the only time they offer the public tours is during home coming...I did get a chance to visit with some employees while I was in the lobby; I was there the week after home coming and they gave me some details about the turn out and events. It sounded like they rolled out the red carpet for owners |

No tour; Just wondering if the elves were working on the preproduction 1125's at that time? How in the world they could keep that a secret is beyond me. I booked a room at the Sheridan for homecoming July 2nd-6th, will probably haul my bike up there. If you guy's ride, I'll have room for clothes etc, if needed. |

Ya, I was thinking of riding, but with the track days at homecoming, I just didn't want to get caught out with out any spares (wadded up bike). This way I could haul all the spare parts (wadded up bike), track day leathers and other stuff. Tim, I have a room w\two double beds, couch and large desk\work bench. You can camp there if you like, should be room for one more, sleeping on the floor, couch,or work bench. I am just asking for a little help for the rent. |

Ah,, the coffee. Well if you stay or not,if you have to much stuff to carry on the bike, you can UPS me your stuff, and I'll haul it. Looks like your 1125R will be there shortly, you will have to bring it to Hallett. Brian |
