Cool! Just caught that first plaque! The R*R* was fully enclosed. The R*S* was naked. Long live the S bikes! |

The Barton square-4 rotary valve engine was the basis for the RW750 powerplant.

What a great day that was . . . I shot all film as well . . . in fact lots of Ektachrome slides. I got some GREAT ones of Mr. 1313 and the team from Buell. That was pretty amazing stuff. |

Pwnzor, Did you coat your headers? I occasionally go Brasso crazy around the house and I appreciate the shine |

Nope, I polished them myself, with wet/dry sandpaper. Start with 600 grit, then 1500, then 3500. Oh yeah, and a 90,000RPM pneumatic die grinder saves a bit of time! |

thanks,I sanded/polished them once on the bike. Then I had them off this past August because the gear cover started leaking and started over. It only takes maybe 2 sheets each of 220, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000! All by hand while watching tv (I originally tried to use a dremel to get the lines off, but it just ate the sanding drums and laughed at me!)........ Once you get them shiny they stay pretty nice with nothing but dry paper towel, but do turn a more golden color over time due to heat. As you can see the sharp turn in the rear pipe still gets hot enough to turn purple! I'd say the pictures are from about a month after I put the bike back together.

Those pipes do look great. I almost thought I would do that on my Uly.... then that thought passed..... |

Btt, I've admired your RS in many locations here on BadWeB and have a few questions: 1. Is it really a 1993? What VIN is it (last 2 digits should be sufficient)? 2. Why is the tail light lens missing in the top picture? 3. The header looks very new. I'm assuming it has been replaced as I would expect more discoloration of the header after 14,500 miles. Love the bike! Just want to know more about it. Requisite Buell pic:

Thank you! From my understanding it is a 1993. Was given to me from my step-dad about 2 years ago. 1. Last 2 digits on my reg. card are 04 Will check on the bike tomorrow morning. 2. Tail light lens missing from a time when I attempted to smoke the rear tire, revved it up and popped the clutch. Bike shot out right from under me ripping off the license plate holder and breaking the lens. Never did that again. 3. Yes new headers. Flange bolt broke off, and the header ended up splitting on one of the curves. It will be soon returning to my step-dad in return for a new 1125r once I can find one!! Graduation present. Florida State University. |

I did try to register on the Buell owners thing on Buell.com, but was saying I had an invalid VIN. Might have copied it wrong when getting my tag for it. |

James Parker and Erik Buell should team up... GSX-RADD (I'm thinking XB12RADD would be better)
