Hey All, Just installed the "upgraded" side stand to my '03 XB9SL. The pin setup is far superior to the half pin/half thread setup. I had to do away with the safety switch(soldered/shorted it)as well. Now the bracket that holds the spring/plate to the stand seems to stick out quite far. Should I be looking at the newer bracket as well? Is the standoff on the bracket for the spring shorter? TIA. Kaveman |

I thought the Low models didn't require an upgrade, unless you just did it for peace of mind?? My original works fine. |

Mine seems fine as well, what's the problem that needed to be corrected? |

There have been reports of the bolts backing out and/or shearing off. In 07 the bolt was changed. |

Yup the same bolt was used on the L version. Seemed really sloppy when I took it off. New "pin" version seems much more sturdy. Now to see if the mount plate is different on the later model setup... Kaveman |
