Just eyeballing, it looks like the holes are all the same size. Should be no diametrical hinderences. |

Son of a beeyatch. The upper clamp is an 08 unit. The gosh darn lower clamp is the exact same as my 06. The moco sent me a 06 lower and an 08 upper. I thought the angle was off in the lower pic. Looks like this baby is on hold till I get the correct lower clamp. Every thing fits nice on the top clamp tho. dangit, I hate when that happens. |

perfect fit. No mechanical issues at all. Seems to have picked up about 1/2" in wheelbase. The turning lock to lock is way more than it was, and it does not come as close to the frame on lock contact, which should take some pinching out of the wiring/cables. Will finish the wiring tomorrow.

This project obviously shows a lack of planning... Couldn't you fit up the 8-piston caliper set-up from the 1125R at the same time ? |

This is great. Cant wait to hear how well it handles. What is the cost of the parts? |

Cool, looks good so far. Also from the pictures of the upper triple clamp, looks like the handlebars are set further forward an inch or so,too. Can't hardly wait to hear how it handles! Might be ordering a set of 08' trees real soon........... |

The bars are about 1/2" farther forward. I will just roll the Rox Risers back a little to compensate. I added 1/2" spacers between the top tree and the cowling. This will allow the rerouting of the cables to provide more bar placement options. At this point, I think the only difference in the frame (06/08) may be the steering lock boss. With the trees moved forward, the factory steering lock pin will not reach. A longer pin or new boss on the frame would resolve, if anyone sees the need for a lock. |

Tread, You already have locks. The tank/frame will do nicely. Now go forth, young man, and dispel the ruined handling myth. |

The upper and lower triple clamps are 148.00 each before discount. Cracks me up how inexpensive Buell parts are. Just grabbed an old Capital Cycle BMW parts catalog (they're much cheaper than dealer) 1998-1999, $328.12 for the lower clamp for my 1978 R100S!!! I don't understand why the plastic bodywork costs as much as it does tho... |

If you really wanted to get nuts and mess with the geometry you could get the forks and put them in on the opposite sides and have the wheel farther forward. I'm not saying that is a good idea though. |

She rides like a dream boys. Took the test ride last night and had a blast. I can not tell the difference on the highway, but I went in a big nearly vacant parking lot and did some tight turns, sidewalk hoppings and median crossings where she performed quite well. No more twenty point turns to turn the bike around in the garage. Now I can just back out and drive off. That alone is worth the price of the tree mod to me. |

Glad initial testing turned out so well. I'd think if the change in fork geometry has any undesirable effects, it'll be in the twisties. You should ride up to Deal's Gap today and find out. |

So...the only issue with the new clamps is the steering lock pin will no longer engage? Can you see anyway to modify the lock pin? |
