Just in time for a bevy of Buell 1125r's... A new road motor course is being built on the Front Range. "The RING of the ROCKIES", is modeled after the famous Nuerburgring and is designed by the world-renowned Formula 1 racetrack architect, Hermann Tilke from Germany. What a wonderful time to own a Buell!!! When you see the race track, you will know that Tilke has created something very special. Once you drive the course, you'll be hooked. The track layout allows for several different configurations offering driving thrills for every level of driver; from the novice to the experienced racer. The track is located on an expanse of more than a thousand acres, allowing the track to follow the natural contours of the land, which incorporates canyons, bluffs, and ponds. I'm sure membership is a bit too blue for my blood. Trackdays maybe tho; would be a perfect time for this area to organize more and have regular, affordable get-togethers. If it can be affordable. Z | ||

Of course membership is steep, these are founding member fees, paddock owners, race promoters, etc. They get condos, stalls, champagne and fish eggs too. The web site is geared toward raising funds to build it, staff it, promote it, make it real. In the meantime, like most motor courses around the country, track days will come, IMHO. And if sport bike dealerships are smart, they will sponsor track days. | ||

Of course already in Colorado are La Junta Raceway 3 mi. north of US-50 on Hwy-109. It is a 1.3 mile mostly oval track at 4,220ft elevation. Also Pueblo Motorsports at US-20 & Pueblo Blvd; 2.25 multi-turn course at 4,900 ft. Not far east is Motorsports Park in Hastings NB. 2.3 miles of several long stretches and multi-curves at 1,900 ft. West of course is fabulous & new Miller Motorsport just out of Salt Lake City with 4.5 miles of road course at 4,450 ft. | ||

Well, there's a rush to build country club race tracks. The idea isn't to have track days in the end. Autobahn country club has members, and they no longer have racing. The outside track days will go away next. Programs like that really limit a track in that a board makes decisions about the track rather than one person deciding to move a track forward. Terrible surface at ACC is kind of an example. The membership has paid their fees. Why should they pay for a complete re-engineer and repave of a brand new facility. Will be interesting to see what happens in the end. A lot of old tracks from the 60's were built under the same ideas, and they were bought up and made into forest preserves, subdivisions, and equipment storage. http://www.ghosttracks.homestead.com/#anchor_1021 | ||

Under the heading "Daily Rentals": MSCC will establish a track rental program for car clubs, corporate events, educational purposes and amateur racing organizations.
