Point well taken Court. It is close to 80 degrees today and I rode the XB12R in the morning then took the S2 out for the rest of the day. I may head out again if the girlfriend wants to go for a ride after she gets off work.

To be honest the only thing that worries me is that none of the recall work has been done on this bike. I am worried about the swingarm and the race exhaust separating from the bike at highway speeds.

I will make a deal with you! You ride yours and I will ride mine. I look forward to meeting you and other Buell riders.

Frank

Does anyone know of a paint shop or painter that does good work on Buells in Colorado. I need my 98 S1W bodywork repainted and as most of you probably know there is a challenge to repaint these bikes. I would like to find someone that at least knows what a Buell is. Thanks, Frank

I would contact the Badweb member "ETENNULY". He is out of state, but a professional painter and a Buell enthusiast. He helped talk me through some of the process when I painted some of my Uly parts this past summer.

Good Luck!

Maximum, thanks. PM sent to Vern. I just got a 98 S1W in poor shape and can do everything except the paint. Thanks again, Frank

A new road motor course is being built on the Front Range. "The RING of the ROCKIES", is modeled after the famous Nuerburgring and is designed by the world-renowned Formula 1 racetrack architect, Hermann Tilke from Germany. What a wonderful time to own a Buell!!!
When you see the race track, you will know that Tilke has created something very special. Once you drive the course, you'll be hooked. The track layout allows for several different configurations offering driving thrills for every level of driver; from the novice to the experienced racer. The track is located on an expanse of more than a thousand acres, allowing the track to follow the natural contours of the land, which incorporates canyons, bluffs, and ponds. From the map the track will be out by Deer Trail, east of Denver off I-70 near where I recently went exploring abandoned missile silo exploring.

http://www.theringoftherockies.com/index.php?page= track <-- gives a spectacular animated view overlayed on the Goggle Earth actual 3-D images showing elevation changes in and out of ponds and rise & falls of the local terrain.

Frank - let me know if the folders I've set up work for your group. If we need to make changes, let me know. I'll forward your logo to Blake, as my access doesn't take me that far into BadWeB!

Enjoy!

Hey Frank,

Was over at RMHD yesterday and they will be getting their first 1125r this week, either Tues or Wed. It's already sold tho. Talked to Tom, the guy you talked to a while back and told him you had a good experience with him on the phone. He's a great guy. Knows his stuff. I hope to stop by there on Wed to see if they have it in yet.

Another guy that's great to talk to is Clint. He's the one I bought my bike from. If you talk to them again, mention my name for a good chuckle.

Just splurged and purchased heated gear for both me and Dan, so hope to get in some riding this winter. Can't wait to try it out. Another 3 weeks and the days will be getting longer, YES

You know, Blake allows us to use our Storm Fronts Page for the website on Buell.com. Might want to consider listing CBR if you haven't already.

Well, got the rest of our heated gear today and went for a little ride. How nice to stay warm. Had to do it today, cause we're expecting some snow and cold to move in.

Julie, I am glad you could get out for a ride today. Weather is really bad here. What all do you get as far as heated gear. I just bought Lynn some heated gloves and I have a set as well but that is all I have ever used. How do you like it?

Hi Frank, got the Warm n Safe jacket liner ($165)and their dual controller ($90), the Gerbing pants (not just the liner) and gloves. The jacket liner got very warm and fast. The gloves and pants didn't get noticeably warm but I definitely didn't get cold and it was chilly out. The only part of me that got cold was my chin cause I forgot to take a scarf and kinda stuff it up inside the helmet.

Having experienced this I will most definitely get out more this winter, as long as the roads are dry.

Julie, that is great. Last year when I rode with the gloves my hands stayed warm but I started to notice other parts of my body that got cold. LOL

With gas prices like they are I am serious considering doing that since it is a 35 mile commute for me every day to work in a Diesel truck.

I awoke to snow on the ground and it is 25 degrees so looks like no riding this weekend.

Anyone know of any good and affordable places to get tires mounted in the Denver area?

The place that I was using appears to have gone out of business.

Thanks.

Try the closest Squid shop to you.
I used to get my tires at a Kawasaki place.
I'd take them the bare wheels tho, don't want a rice wrench messin' with my Buell.
They had and knew their tires better than most of the other places around Longmont.

I am with Zack on this one. I use a aftermarket HD shop that is always happy to get anyones business. They run from Buells and will not work on them so I take the wheel and tire down to them. I can't remember but it was 25 or 30 dollars. Of course that does you no good since I am down South..... Frank

If you buy the tire at High Cntry H-D/Buell, bringing the wheel in to them gets you mounted & balanced for half an hour labor. If you bring the bike in it is one hour labor.

Even when the northern Buell dealers were open, High Country saw a lot of their customers because High Country is open seven days a week and their tire inventory/knowledge is pretty good.

Ask for James in parts.

We do our own. Dan bought a piece of equipment and he has already changed one of my tires cause it got a nail in it and wouldn't hold air anymore. Took him maybe an hour.

I'll do my own on the Shovelhead.
She doesn't go fast enough to worry about fine balancing.
I've got a pair of 2' long spoons that makes fairly short work of a tire change.
Not as quick as a machine, but I've replaced tires on my car with them in a pinch.

The XB and now the 1125 gets high-speed-spin balanced.

Speaking of, the 1125R is officially "broken-in".
Yesterday was beautiful, even if it was only 25˚ F.

40s to 50s all week! Thank you Mother Nature.

Zack, great news on your break-in miles on the 1125r. Looks like it will be in the mid to high 50s here tomorrow so I doubt I will make it into work. Time to ride.

It was 10 degrees on my 35 minute ride to work this morning...that was a little chilly! Even with heated grips and electric gloves, the hands got a little cold. Everything else was fine!

Zac: Let me know if you are planning a ride some weekend...I'd love to check out the 1125. I was on the front row at the unveiling during homecoming (as seen in the previous Fuell magazine)...but have not had an opportunity to hear that baby purrrr.

I must be getting old.... I just do not handle the cold as well as I use to.

Zac, Max or anyone else, if you find yourself heading South around Colorado Springs or Pueblo let us know. I would love to take a gander at the 1125r and I am sure a lot of Buellers in this area would as well....
