MY how things change. My friend Rachel was never very comfortable on her R1150R at low speeds. It was too wide in the waist and she had a hard time touching her feet down securely. She had some no speed drops that really affected her confidence in all aspects of riding. I worked with her on low speed drills and track days and she certainly got better but was still insecure on the bike. Yesterday, I had her sit on my new R1200S which is low and very narrow in the waist. She was able to flat foot easily. I was surprised how natural she looked on that bike. 50 miles later it was apparent that she was a different rider on the S; much more confident, better lines, better pace, better stops, better low speed manuvering .... It was a great ride, even in the rain. She looks great on it and felt like she could ride it all day. Long story short ... she's buying it. I only had it a month or so and one track day but no regrets. I'd rather see her hooked up; and, anyway, I can ride it anytime. So, it's just me and my favorite big enduro for now. I just realized I couldn't win because of working at the dealership. Maybe one of you will get lucky. http://www.oneluckydiablo.com/entryform.aspx |

For the nerdy car guy: http://www.lfs.net/ I've been playing the demo (free) version for a couple days now, it's good stuff. It's like a generic Gran Turismo with better online play. It's a bit rough trying to play a simulation game with a keyboard, but it's fun anyway. I'm trying to convince the wife we need to spring for a PC steering wheel and the full licensed version. |

I called Pammy today to check on my head. She has been calling around to see if she could find a used one before she started working on mine. Apparently I messed it up pretty well. You can't just drip weld down the existing holes and retap them. You have to cut the holes out sideways and then fill them in. It's not a problem to do it, just would be simpler/cheaper to find a used head. Sportmark - do you get Fuell? There is a blurb in there about a Blast which set a new LSR, 129.X MPH. They put a fairing on it. Is that still in the class Laura is running in? |

Today I came home to our 11 year old Old English Sheepdog lying in poop, pee and puke. I got her outside, but she couldn't keep her rear end up. She'd get maybe 2-3' and fall again. I got the floor cleaned up, picked the children up from school and talked to the vet. Dr. Palmer felt that it was something neurological and wanted her brought in. Mark (Webe), Carlos and I loaded her into the Suburban and headed to the vet. He still feels that it's a neuro issue, but on the slim off chance that its a syndrome that may pass, he's observing her over the weekend. Monday will tell the rest of the tale. Chelsea came to us at 4 1/2 months old. The original owner had bought her to show. When he found out she was deaf, he took her to the vet to be put down. The vet instead kept her and through a series of events, we drove to Hickory NC and picked her up. She was a ball of black and white fluff. She learned sign language and has been a wonderful pet. Her nickname around here is 'Lil Fuzz. If the end is near, we know that we gave her 11 good years and that she was loved beyond words. I'm drained, so good night and thanks for letting me ramble. Kiss all your children tonight, two and four legged. |

Damn, Kristi sorry to hear that. Most of you know MY feelings about dogs. I have a pet cemetary in a pretty little patch of land within walking distance. Keeps us sane knowing that they are here watching over us in presence or pass. If you al need anything, holler. Make sure you call the vet often, just for your own piece of mind. Our last to pass waited till we all showed up then took her last breath. Not trying to be DonnyDowner, but I couldn't stand to think that we didn't get to look in her eyes and say good bye........................sorry had to wipe my eyes. Just don't want that to happen to you all. |

Kristi, I'm sorry. It's gut-wrenching to lose a valued member of the family -- I do feel your pain. The highlight of my normal day is getting home and being met by our 4 legged children (the two legged variety are too old and way too cool these days.) I won't have to look very far for the wife's dog,,,,,it'll be curled up in my spot when I get there God bless, G2 |

Thanks everyone. I hate this waiting to see, but feel that it's the only way we know for sure we're making the right decision. In your mind you know the right thing to do, but it doesn't help your heart from breaking. If she has to be put down Monday, Carlos will bury her out back with Alex and Chynna Bear. It will be a long day. If you're out riding, have fun and be safe. |

And, NO, the above doesn't have any influence on what's below:

Talked to the vet late yesterday afternoon. No improvement to speak of. Our other Sheepdog, Ralph, knows something is up and hasn't eaten since we took Chelsea to the vet on Friday. Spike - good luck with the sale of the Firebolt. Hard to fight the Ulybug! |

I picked up my Uly on Dec 2, 2005. Today is Dec 2, 2007. Had some issues with the electrical system this morning. It's either the battery or the VR/Stator problem that people have been having. So my warranty expires today. The service dept at the dealership isn't open today. I'll call tomorrow and see what the deal is. |
