More than I could ever type. I can't explain the ECMSpy because I don't want to mess with anything with that much potential disaster for me. I've played with other ECM tools and always end up going back to stock. |

1.) Download the free software from http://www.ecmspy.com/. Install it on a laptop. 2.) Download the full manual from http://www.steveturnbull.co.uk/buell/buellecmspytu ningguide.zip 3.) You'll have to make a cable yourself or purchase one online. The parts cost around $40 or so. I think the manual actually gives instructions on how to build one. If not, I know they're located throughout the web, even here on Badweb somewhere. 4.) Also download ans install the FTDI drivers (needed to operate the cable) from http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm . After that, you should be all set! There are some troubleshooting bits in the manual... I actually had some COM port issues that needed sorting out initially. Hope that helps! I got it just so I could do my own TPS resets. Definitely handy, and beats paying the dealer for such a simple job. ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on November 27, 2007) |
