I had asked these guys (Dark Horse Moto) about using the sliders on a tuber, they thought it wouldn't work due to the solid axle. If I remember correctly, I believe the rear axle on my tuber is hollow. Can anyone think of a reason why these sliders wouldn't work? Also, anyone have any fork sliders they can recommend for tubers? I think I'm covered as far as my frame and bars go... | ||

I've lowsided my M2 on both sides and noticed that the folded passenger pegs hit first and the swingarm and axle nut didn't get rashed. I'm wondering if the sliders would even hit the ground in that location on a tuber. I really don't know, though. | ||

Interesting. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience. Maybe just frame sliders are "good enough". | ||

Dark Horse Moto now makes sliders to fit p. pegs mounts on XBs. Maybe they could be made to fit tubers. Otherwise look at LSL frame sliders (from Al) | ||

Does anybody have experience with the American Sport Bike frame sliders?   Would they protect the header and CF oval intake and paint in a lowside or tipover? Any other slider options for us tuber guys? | ||

I wonder,if the first and hardest impact hit the LSL slider,which is mounted at the transverse frame tube,wouldn´t this bend the tube and wreck the frame? Just asking,I don´t know. Ralph (Message edited by xldevil on November 27, 2007) | ||

After researching the forum a while back it sounded like people had mixed opinions on the LSL frame sliders. Some thought they might cause more damage in a high speed crash, but potentially could protect things in a low speed low-side. Personally, I'd love to get some decent looking frame sliders 'just in case', but I don't want to spend the cash if they don't work well. What exactly would the axle sliders protect? | ||

Axle sliders generally protect the bottom of the forks and the swingarm. Whether they would work on a Tuber or not has yet to be determined. | ||

Considering that the rear axle is hollow on a tube frame.....and not the front | ||

Inside diameter of a tube framer's rear axle is much smaller than that of an XB. So the sliders designed for an XB won't work without significant modification. But the folks at Dark Horse Moto might could be convinced to do such a mod. The axle's bolt head side and nut side side may protrude enough to act as sliders themselves. | ||

But the folks at Dark Horse Moto might could be convinced to do such a mod. I discussed it with them (well a more general 'sliders for tubers' conversation), briefly. Might take a fairly large amount on interest to make it worthwhile on their part. | ||

After lowsiding yesterday after talking how hard it is to find sliders for a tuber i am much more determined. I found that the force intake and header take most the brunt. lol any updates on this thread?  | ||
