I just got a 2000 M2. It only came with one of the small round keys, no spare or key code. It's probably best if I get a spare now before I lose the only key I have. Does anyone know where or how I should go about getting a spare made; cheaply if possible. I haven't seen this type of key anywhere keys are typically made. Stay cool. Kerry B |

Call up your local Buell dealer (Appleton HD is a sponsor here, and good to work with). They can look up your key code from your VIN and order keys for you. They aren't very expensive either, I ordered an extra set for my S1. |

remove the plastic cover from the key you have. the code is stamped on it. they ARE rather expensive. you can only buy them by the pair @ $20. 10 bucks apiece is steep, but for peace of mind it is worth it |

Any good locksmith place can dupe the cylinder type keys. The one by my me charges $6.00 per. I've had spares made for all the bikes. |

I just bought the Buell pair for piece of mind and hid it in the tail piece by the tail light in a double pair of zip lock bags with my insurance card to keep everything dry. That way I only had to pull the seat and grab the spare if I happened to discover a hole in my pocket. And a long way from home. Maybe an extra 20 also if you drop your wallet. |
