So.. sometimes the biggest player cares only about the award which makes them all about the sale and leave nothing for service there after? I reckon sometimes the tallest basketball player has no love of the game either. Maybe the winner of this award should be chosen by the customers rather than a sales report. Off Topic: Daves, how the hell did you get that monster back to your truck? He's freaking huge! At first I thought it was a cow wearing antlers (Message edited by metalstorm on November 22, 2007) |

I don't know how it is figured who gets the pegasus, but they should give it out to the top three dealers in each region. (By top three dealers I mean sales, service and parts.) Everything is computerized these days so it wouldnt be too hard. |

it took two of us and a lot of grunting to get him on the back of the quad! Actually, for Iowa it isn't that big of a buck. It is the biggest one I have ever been lucky enough to get. |

OK. I give up. It seems like the No. 1 dealer and the Pegasus thingy is going nowhere. That's alright. I mean, we all got our Buells, and have more or less figured out a way of keeping them running, and we know who the cool dealers are, and who stinks, am I right? So let's just get back to Dave's buck. I mean we are talking about a Personal Best Buck for a very experienced hunter, savy? Could you give us a few, ( like every single one), details of the hunt Dave? Start at the beginning, ok? Thanks (Message edited by gentleman_jon on November 22, 2007) |

Not only did Battlefield HD in Gettysburg PA stop selling Buells, they didn't do anything to promote Buell. They also didn't do well on service for mine. |

I am still curious who is #1 in sales. I am not curious who has the most awards, who has the best reputation. Just sales numbers. I wouldn't have thought that would be that difficult to find. |

I am assuming that by Number One, that mean in sales? Reg Kitrelle of Battle 2Win fame, used to publish the top 10 in sales Buell dealerships every year. I found the geographic locations of these top dealerships interesting to say the least. How hard could it be to get this info if Reg did it every year? Reg, how'd you do that? I would like to see a list of all HD dealerships and compare it to all dealerships that sell Buells. I was always amazed with the BRAG membership book of maps by how many of the HD dealerships that didn't sell Buells. |

I believe it's like the bar & shield award in that it's a combo of sales, service and a few other things. What say we nominate our own ten best list (and why). |

The number one Buell dealer is the one that treats you right AND is on board when it comes to your Buell! (Though Buzz @ Mid-Ohio Harley will hold close to my heart,[ if you Mid-Ohio is on the board, PM me, so I know who to go to for my next. (One of my favorite Buell storys that got my "Bra" home, and lost me a job)]). |

The numbers for "top" buell sales are pretty sad when you compare them to top H-D sales, so i imagine that they aren't broken out anywhere in public information. Top H-D sales numbers are a 4 digit number. Top buell sales numbers are a 2 digit number... Sometimes dealers also known for taking great care of Buell customers such as Appleton and Glendale are on there. Sometimes ones known as "great" in the Buell community don't make the sales list. Pegasus awards are a slightly better measurement, but not that much of the criteria is based on consumer experience and Buell knowledge, unfortunately. |

Is it only a "feel good" award for the dealers? so i imagine that they aren't broken out anywhere in public information. So this info is confidential? If so, fine, but would someone at least be honest and say so. This thread is becoming nothing but foreplay... |

Confidential award - yea, that's funny. I can imagine, " Listen up, we are going to give you this here award but don't tell anyone, not even your mother " |

I only care who the number 1 dealer in the Country is. I would actually LOVE to be emailed the 1-10 list to my atc(dot)org(at)gmail(dot)com since it seems to take jumping through hoops to be told. It probably isn't that nobody wants to say, it's that they don't really KNOW the list. |

if its any consolation, they wont tell me what my regional sales status either, in the past 3 years I have 67 confirmed new and used buell sales. Dont know where that puts me, but I know that locally if you are looking at Buell, you are going to see me at some point ;) That dirty lil orange bike is just hard to ignore. When asked what my sales goals are.... I always reply, just one more. |

Hal's probably is one of the best shops around. They have a good selection of bikes, bike parts and have been somewhat decent for accessories. What sets them apart from other dealers is the quality of Buell tech's and their Speed Shop. |

Ah there are unconfirmed sales, those are the ones that are from info and riding impressions that may have swayed someone to come to Buell, but didnt come see me here due to the distance. Didnt take advantage of our fly and ride program. But still picked up a Buell motorcycle. There was a thread about this a couple of weeks ago. (actually I am on several boards each day, its winter, gotta make the numbers happen somehow) |

I see St.Paul mentioned a couple of times...I should drop in there sometime. BTW, if these ratings that you are looking for are anything like our performance appraisals at work, forget about it. Our boss gives us a good rating and then HR comes back and tells him to lower them since they are too high. What a crock. |

Who's number 1? It would seen by all the non-answers, the number one Buell seller is someone that the non-answerers dislike tremendously. Sounds to me like a story loaded with dramatic drama only rivaled by a teen-age-my-space-soap-opera. Either that or jealousy... |

Precision Harley-Davidson/Buell is #1 in S.E. New England Using what data? With every dealership selling less than 99 Buells .... therein is the message? |

Its all statistics, and how reported. So consider the following: Number one based on total Buell bikes sold Number one based on Buells sold to HD ratio product Number one based on Dealer size (allocation vs actual sold) Of course a dealer that gets more has the opportunity to sell more. Number one based on service & customer Satisfaction Number one based on repeat brand sales Number one based on used Buell sales Number one based on calender sales Number one based on model year sales Number one based on model sales (most sales contests carve out the Blast, but they are our #2 selling bike in the brand) Number one based on retail margin cost of sales (selling em for half off is easy) Number one as reported by Pegasus award Criteria So what is number one to you? Statistics are a sticky wicket and a wanky widget. Its all how you report it and record it. Let the banter begin, |
