Have had my Spec Ops on for a while now and enjoy the increased performance and the sound. Only have one question for others that also have this pipe. Does yours pop when slowing down, in gear coming off the throttle? I thought I may have an exhaust leak but that is not the case. Just wondering if anyone elses does this? |

I had a "tailgunner" for awhile...too loud for me... the pop is probably just the lean condition of the FI...something EPA has crammed down our carburetors... |

Yeah, I had a tailgunner too. It used to pop on deceleration. Replaced it when I bought the Buell race kit. I think the tailgunner would be better made without valve and run it with a race ecm. |

Hooliken, Yes, mine pops if I use the engine to brake like you're suggesting. If I just clutch it and let the motor wind down it doesn't pop. It is classic harley sportster scavaging. All 3 of my sportys did it with various pipes. |

Thank you folks.....with earplugs in I hardly notice it. Just making sure I did not botch something when I put it on. Definitely turns heads now instead of sounding like a sewing machine doing the polka. |

I hear there are two ways to get rid of it, both require a custom map or tune. Either remove almost all the fuel on throttle roll off or dump a bunch of fuel on throttle roll off, the inbetween is what causes the pop. On harleys it is very common, unless the bike has been tuned by a good tech, where he applies one of these two methods and removes decel pop. This might be wrong but it was how it was described to me in lehmans terms from a tech. |
