I know who number 9 is and I'm pretty sure I know who number 3 is. Where can the lay person found out the numbers? Do the other dealer's know the numbers? |

I don't know officially. But Downtown HD (seattle) has claimed they are the largest Buell dealer for sometime. |

i would think that like anyone else, if you want to consider yourself #1 it would have to be a full 360 evaluation. you got some salesman out there selling to guys who really can't ride or have poor credit or just don't make that much money to afford a bike just to make that sale. then after they make that sale all bets are off. your on your own. this is just my own opinion |

In the great tradition of treating Buell as the "redheaded stepchild" that it is, I found it impossible, spending a half hour on the web, to even find out who were last years Pegasus winners. Here is a list of dealers who won the Pegasus award at one time or another in the last ten years. A bit pathetic I agree, but the best I could do. It looks like a nice day out here on Eastern Long Island, and I am trying to organize a little "Thanksgiving Day Ride". Glendale ca. Barnett HD, el Paso, 1998-2002 Lakeland HD, Lakeland Fl 2004 St. Paul HD, 1997 to 2007 , six times HD of Bloomington, Ind 2002 HD of Ocala, 2003 to 2006 la Vegas Hd 2003 HD Buell of Baton Rouge 2005 Schaeffer HD, Orwigsburg Pa. Battlefield HD, Gettysburg Pa Appleton HD Perhaps Court or someone, could post the Official Pegaus Award Winners list for the last five years, or something. |

I'm talking about sales. My local dealer claims they are the ninth in the Country in sales, but I know for a FACT Cycle-Connection is better, hands down. |

RE: G. John's list. There is a dealer in South Dakota who claimed to a friend of mine that they were the number 1 dealer in the country yet they aren't on the list, Cycle-Connection has kicked some major butt in sales for some time now and they haven't received the award. One of the salesmen at my local dealer one the sales contest for the mosxt Buells sold, but Chris Chiodo at Cycle-Connection sold quite a bit more than the winner. |

Sometimes the tallest kid is not the best basketball player. No crap, Columbo. We still get it. Is there a place, we, as customer's can check the validity of claims of what number a dealer say their number might be? Does the dealership even know what their competition is doing?} (Message edited by cochise on November 22, 2007) |

Court, Perhaps you would be kind enough to post the actual Pegasus Awards list? I understand the need for corporate confidentiality in certain matters, but I am perplexed by the apparent need for secrecy on this one. Inquiring Buelligans want to know!!

Just in case any of you wanted to see the buck I shot Tuesday morning, here it is I no longer have the list of last years Pegasus winners. There are several HD dealers that all claim to be the largest in the US. Never figured out how they could all make the same claim? There is usually a difference between Largest and Best |

2005 is all i could find on a search here Here is the list of all the Pegasus award winners. These are in no kind of order, but I felt it was appropriate to put DAVES at the top of the list. >>>>You know, Court, you could always just say that you don't know, there is no shame in it. But it would also be inaccurate. I have all the documentation, internal and external. The information is of little value and, in my personal opinion, the Pegasus Award tells me, from a Buell owners perspective, little of value. That's not unrelated to the reason the information in such confidence. What does being a "Pegasus Award" winner mean to you? What do you think it means to a dealer? What do you think it means to Harley-Davidson? Like I said . . . and depending on your perspective, the tallest kids may not be the best basketball player. |

I really couldn't be any less worried about who the Pegasus award winners are. My original question was, who is the number 1 Buell Dealer in the country? I have no idea what the Pegasus award really is. I heard from one person that you have to request yourself to be in the running for the award. Is the award itself the number that you are? Once again, I couldn't care less who has, or will receive the Pegasus award unless I am a salesman myself. So I ask again, who is the number one Buell Dealer in the country. I know who number 9 is, and I am pretty sure I know who number 3 is, if I heard the person who told me, correctly. |

it is not what number on the list you are that requested to be on the list. It is based on a whole bunch of things. I was NEVER able to get the numbers of who was #1, # 9 or any others so I think whoever is telling you this stuff is making it up. Some dealers that deserve it, get it. While many that in my opinion do not deserve it also get it? |

Court said: What does being a "Pegasus Award" winner mean to you? What do you think it means to a dealer? What do you think it means to Harley-Davidson? I, as a Buell customer, have no idea what it means since it is kept such a secret and even Daves does not understand why some dealers got it or didn't. I thought it meant better service from a store with the Pegasus stamp of approval. To a dealer, it should mean better floorplans or more retained earnings in some way To HDI it should mean a better partner. Seems like the Pegasus award meant something at some time and over time it has become a small child lost in tall weeds. If that is the case, scrap it, and start over with an award systems that means something to all concerned and improves the chain from manufacturer to end customer. |
