Was sitting here getting the itch for another Buell and decided to see what Badweb was up to. Damn. New bike and everything! I can't say I like the fairing much but I'd have to see this in person. |

?!? Yea, and we only had to get an engine from Austria to do it?!? (Not to mention the tons of other non-american parts) You look at the parts content on your average Ford or GM product lately? Give me a freakin' break. Domestic auto manufacturers source parts from all over the world. Strangely enough, for some models, a higher percentage of the engine assemblies and parts for Toyota, Nissan, and Honda are produced in the US than for domestic auto manufacturers. Just because the engine was co-engineered with Rotax's assistance doesn't mean it is any less of an American product. Why would you believe that if it is economically viable for the the engine to be produced here that Buell won't have the engine manufactured here? If the air-cooled engine is slowly phased out, there are going to be a lot of great machines and builders looking for something to do. I'll bet they can do a bang up job on the Helicon engine. I'm as much for the buy America first, but I'm not willing to sacrifice Buell, an American company, to support that belief. I guess the V-Rod is bad as well? You like the Duramax Diesel engine? It's a joint venture between GM and Isuzu. As a matter of fact, if you want the highest content of American produced parts and assembly of ANY automotive manufacturer, buy Isuzu. |

Just a few to add to the collection...
The clear signal lenses are a definite improvement. |

Hey anyone know if they are going to leave that rear spring red? I've noticed it red and black. Man I can't wait. I ordered the touring seat yesterday. Wa Hoo! |

Can anyone tell me if you put a set of Lightning bars on it, will you still be able to get into the "Rider's Bubble" created by the windscreen? My thought is those bars might sit you too upright and your helmet would catch some wind...... |

You'd have to change out the top triple tree, it has the same one as the XBRs. Lightning bars and tree would definitely raise you out of "the bubble" unless you can fold up your arms like a chicken. That could probably be compensated for with a taller windscreen. I wish the bars would go a little lower. Might have to go with a Uly TT because of the size of the fork tubes, not sure. Z |
