"What's the header outlet size?" The O.D. of the inlet to the muffler is approximately 2.0625" or 2 and 1/16 of an inch for those of you that like fractions. "XB9 and XB12 are the same yes?" I believe so. Hope that helps. |

the header outlet size is the same because my 9 and 12 pipes will interchange between my bikes. the diameter of the pipes them self are different though between the 9 and the 12 |

Oddly enough, the header inlet diameter is also the same from 9's to 12's When the 1200 pipe leaves the exhaust port of the head, it is the same diameter as the 984 and then it "steps up" in diameter for most of the length of the pipe before exiting at the same diameter as the 984 once again. If my recollection of college physics holds true, it would seem that the 1200 pipe cannot flow more than the 984 pipe. Combine that with the fact that the 9 and 12 heads are identical (as we learned this past August with Damnut & Hammers head swap), and that the intake manifold diameter was commonized after the first few years of XB production, and it would seem that the two engines are direct bolt in swaps. |

I only knew about the 9 and the 12 being the same, I didn't know the outlet size. This is going to be good. Not an original idea, but, a good one none the less. |
