Hello everyone I am a long time lurker on badweb and this is my first post.I have ben eying a Blast handlebar on ebay wondering how it might feel on my xb12s. I have a Blast that I bought for my kids but they never took to motorcycles like me anyhow the Blast now belongs to my toy poodle,he cant drive it so me and him putt around every afternoon for an hour or so. He stands up over the flyscreen and really catches some wind and barks at the deer in the park. Anyway I always liked the little Blast and that is why I got the XB,I thought it would be like the Blast except it would have tons more power but it is a totally different bike.So would Blast bars and maybe a SCG setup make it more like the Blast? I know this may sound like heresy to some of you but hey I'm 51 yrs old,I dont need or want to scrape pegs around corners or pop wheelies |

they work, they are on my bike, you will have to disassemble the front fairing to get that brake cable rerouted to give you enough clearance , shouldnt be any additional cable length required. I will post pics from work tomorrow. the get the right ergos for me |

I honestly don't know how any motorcycle rider can resist lofting the front tire, at least from time to time. How about stuffing your XB engine into your blast? You'd be the envy of Blast riders everywhere. What is it that you're trying to get from the Blast bars? A more comfortable upright seating position? If so there are other bar options and you can even go with bar risers. |

hey cityxslicker thanks for the picture, comparing the two here it looks like the Blast bar has more pullback and up a little which is what I would think would have better ergos for me. I have 45000 miles on my FLHRCI,8000 on the Blast and only 3000 on the XB so that tells me I need to change something |

I'd buy a 1" riser from American. about 50-60 bucks. Bolts right on. Remember, the Low set up is more than just a seat, its the rear shock and the front forks. |

I did the conversion to get up in the pegs and stay on the grips when I get into the really bumpy off road whoopdees. its also very comfortable for long distance riding. Did 2800 in a week w/0 any aches pains, or complaints about the ergos. The same trip the year before beat me up by day 4 |

What is this younger generation coming too? Doesn't want to pop wheelies, or scrape pegs? |

Don't worry... the younger younger generation still likes to pop wheelies and scrape pegs! A couple 21 year olds here on the board:
Please don't make fun of my poor riding position. You can rest assured many things have changed since that picture was taken

Fifty one.....old? Well it is to me, but I'm only fifty. I'll have to wait eight months or so to find out. The way I see it that gives me eight more months of practice on the wheelie and peg dragging thing! |
