> Roush Supercharger It won't help. My 2003 Cobra put down 520 horsepower at the wheels, and I totally lost interest in it when I bought my M2. My current SVT Lightning is 550 rwhp on pump gas and somewhere near 700 rwhp on the race tune, but all I use it for is hauling my Buell around. :P |

yup...06 saturn ion redline with a intense stage 3 upgrade puttin down 13.8 at the strip all day long on street tires and it gets driven maybe once a week. I barely have a hair over 5000 miles on it. The ion cant do a wheelie so yea...get bored..lol. Now if i could fit my supercharger on the bike..hmmmm....15lbs of boost on the 12s would be heaven. |

"I was shocked when I looked at the new Mustang. Over here they're a lot of money compared to the dollar retail. I see how they can churn them out at low cost. That's a lot of dull looking plastic interior for what should be a nice looking thing inside as well as out. The few I've seen up close over here have all been auto. Where's the fun in that? Stick shift, rear wheel drive, LSD. I assume they're options? " Rocket, After shopping around quite a bit, I've discovered that here in the states, it's damn near impossible to find a car that isn't swathed in cheap plastic, unless you go the luxury route. I did however nab that interior upgrade package, which I'll post a pic of below... it breaks up the plain plastic decently enough. I'm in total agreement on every other point, and no, none of those are options- they're all standard on the GT. Auto trannies are for wussies! () Here's what the interior upgrade looks like (though this obviously isn't mine).

I like the 1000 Shaker sound system too. But they need to make the hood scoop FUNCTIONAL!!! or another Mach 1 package like in 2003,2004 w/ a SHAKER!! lol I hate it when manufactures use hood scoops and side vents for looks only, Remember back in the late 60's and 70's when they actually looked good and did a job.. like the top quarter vents on a 1970 Superbird or the side scoops for brake cooling .. HOOD SCOOPS THAT ACTUALLY TOOK IN COOL AIR!! WOW WHAT A THOUGHT! |

if the new holden ute ever makes it to the states you guys will love it. its got pretty much exactly the same suspension setup as the G8, and they spent a pile working on the weight distribution to get the same as the sedan so it handles like a car. the interiors are MINT, and you can put a motorbike or two in the back. i saw a new maloo at a dealers last week, and pictures do not do them justice! |

Thanks SM. I guess that wasn't a GT in the interior pic then, given the wussy stick in the middle, lol. Rocket |

Out of today's cars I'd say the Z07 Vette without doubt. The car is fantastic. |

+1 on Interior Upgrade Package. Before I bought mine I had read that if a person was to get ANY option, IUP was the one to get. I totally agree. Good job on finding one with Spoiler Delete. I wanted that as well, but it was a miracle as it was that I found a Legend Lime GT with a 5-speed as the color was discontinued and the model year had ended. At that point I wouldn't let the spoiler spoil my purchase! I agree too, that the bottom end grunt is a little lacking, but the power is just right for a city car. As much as I would like to slap a Whipple on my green machine, it would only allow me to get into trouble. Enjoy your toy! I love mine, and that comes from a Dodge boy who swore he would never own a Ford, especially a Mustang! :-)

>>>i prefer an AMG SL55 Smart choice. And . . . the entire service experience at Ray Catena is NOT to be believed. The day we bought Vickie's it was the 44th MB they'd sold that day and at noon they'd sold 14 Porsches. The service is u-n-b-e-l-i-e--v-a-b-l-e. |

44 sales of any car in a day, or even 14 come to it, is an unusual day surely Court? Or are you saying these guys sell that kind of volume often on a daily basis? Yikes, that's scary! Too many rich people. Ray Catena may qualify for the attentions of the tree hugging brigade, contributing toward such a huge carbon footprint for America, lol. Rocket |

From what I've heard most recently the production interior for the 2009 Camaro is more retro than the 2005 Mustang
I couldn't bring myself to put 2 holes in the front bumper cover for the front tag, so I mounted some brackets from the air dam, so the tag hangs low and no damage is seen on the bumper. |

>>>Or are you saying these guys sell that kind of volume often on a daily basis? Actually they do . . . I watched 3 Maybach's leave and when we took her car for the first service there were two gals, each in a McLaren ,in line behind us. I told Vick. . . "whatever you do. . DO NOT BACK UP! Like I say . . . just going for an oil change is like a spa weekend at the Broadmoor. Here's a blurb I found . . .
quote:The CWONJ Learns the Art of Impeccable Customer Service At Ray Catena Motors The Car Wash Operators of New Jersey (CWONJ) took to the road on February 6 when they were welcomed by representatives from Ray Catena Motors in Union for a tour of their state-of-the-art facility. The impressive, award-winning Mercedes dealership rolled out the red carpet for more than 50 members and in doing so raised the customer service bar to a height few consumers ever experience. "I was just blown away by Ray Catena's customer service - from how they treat their customers to their employees," said CWONJ President Doug Karvelas. "It was just a great meeting!" The membership enjoyed a catered buffet dinner and tour of the new facility that houses more than 200 Mercedes Benz. The group also got to see a $485,000 SLR McLaren Mercedes. "This operation just knows how to do things right," said CWONJ Treasurer Dick Zodikoff. "From valet parking, to shoe shines and manicures on site, to a golf driving range, the customers truly comes first at Ray Catena." In fact, the Ray Catena motto is that they will do whatever it takes to make their customers happy including having a vehicle ready to leave their showroom in 90 minutes or less from the time of purchase. Treating people right also trickles down to the employees at Ray Catena. "The employees have their own kitchen facility and gym on site and are encouraged to use it," said Karvelas. "Ray Catena believes that taking care of the people who run your business is a huge part of his success. If your employees don't want to be at work they will not perform," said Karvelas. The group also got to enjoy an update from International Carwash Association President Frank Lash, who made the trip from Newport News, VA, and a tour of the new Sonny's-equipped carwash.
When we went looking for a car, we'd gone there first and then hit some of the other places. All of the other dealers were the typical "what are you willing to pay?". . . "I'll have to talk to my sales manager". . . .total turn-offs. We dealt with Melissa Lee at Ray Catena. She knows the product inside and out. These folks sell more McLarens than all the Ford dealers in the area will sell Shelbys. From the moment we came in the entire experience is what you'd want it to be. . . take all the time you want. . . anything you want to drive, let me know, I'll get you the keys. . . blah, blah, blah. We wanted a Saab. As you know, we've been through 3 Saab 9-3 convertibles and have gotten cushy enough with the Saab NA folks that we get flown to press events and spent a weekend driving the Viggens at Lime Rock with the Skip Barber team when they were introduced. Saab had it happening and then they really caved in the USA. That's what sent us looking. The MB, in many ways, is less fun than the Saab but the OWNERSHIP AND DEALER EXPERIENCE (ringing a bell here kids?) is what we expect. You have a flat tire? You ring Ray Catena or push the button in the car and in about 35 minutes a fully equipped ML shows, fixes you up and poof . . they are gone. Vickie actually (usually I do it) had to take the car in the other day when she found a large bubble on a tire headed to work . . her comment was "this place isn't clean . . it SPARKLES". As a student of customer service, experiences and the entire ownership process that whole thing fascinates me. People will spend dearly (I'm fully aware that the Kia Sephia provides the same utility . . i.e. gets me to work) that the Mercedes-Benz does. . . it's the experience that makes the difference. We've talked about going back to a Saab next year . . . but I'm afraid the spousal control unit has fallen in love with her cousin Bernadettes new 911. Now if I can just get her to let me borrow her car! By the way . . . I bought a new Ford truck the same day she bought the car. And in the same vein, I drove 3 hours, past 22 other Ford dealerships, to go to Cape May, NJ to a dealership I found by accident when I stopped for an oil change one day. When I ask them how much . . . they tell me. There is no bullshit. When I tell them "do whatever it needs" . . . they do and I can trust them. When I ask to have the transmission, brakes, power steeling and coolant FLUSHED (not sucked out leaving the crap in the bottom) and replaced annually . . I don't have to worry if they did it or just said they did. I put a bike in the back of the truck . . . I drive down . . . they are waiting when I back the truck up to the elevated lift . . they roll the bike out on the lift. . . lower the lift. . . I go ride in the Pine Barons for a couple hours, come back, load the bike and go . . . it's a wonderful thing. 4 weeks ago I made the mistake of taking my truck to the Staten Island Ford dealer. . . it was an hour of hell. I had a mirror replaced. . . when I got back in the car there was grease everywhere (yep, got pics) and one of the door panels was loose . . AND the cash in the console was gone. I've had a nice conversation with the owner who offered to reimburse my $300 and do the other side free. . . I passed. Told him it's not about money, it's about trust. . . you are shit at the very think you purport to do for a living. Buell dealers could learn a lot, huh? CUSTOMER SERVICE IS KING. |

Court - not having to deal with bullshit is the best thing a dealership can offer. Thankfully, I find myself in a good position. My job offers me supplier pricing to the big three (and all those under them, inlcuding Saab), so I simply walk into any dealership of my choosing, tell them the car I want, and hand them a piece of paper with the price I'm going to pay, and the deal is done. The last car I bought had a complication. Turns out I coudln't use my GM points AND my supplier price, so the salesman offered to sell me the car at the suppluier price, plus the $300 or so they get in a kickback from the factory for a "supplier sale". To make it up to me, he applied all $1500 worth of GM points the car, which had a limit of $1000 - I actually came out BETTER. As far as service goes, I only take the car there for warranty work. I worked at a garage for 6 years in high school and college, and those are the only guys I trust to work on my stuff besides me. The dealer has done a couple little warranty things, but that's all. It wasn't a life-altering experience, but they will surely be the first place I look if I decide the next car is going to be another Chevy - and I have a soft spot for that new Camaro... From what I've heard most recently the production interior for the 2009 Camaro is more retro than the 2005 Mustang That picture is actually a rebodied GTO they used for the Transformers movie - they overlaid a faux fiberglass dash over the old one - look closely and you'll see how the guages (there are 4 of them) don't line up with the 2 holes in the Camaro dash. |

Man what a kill joy... I was all excited... now I am just bummed.. lol No worries - for the most part, that's what the interior is slated to look like. The steering wheel, dash and center console are all styled just like the concept. The seats are the stock GTO units, mainly because no one would know the differnce in the movie. |
