Specifically the airbox cover? It's cracked at the forward bolts and making a vibrating noise now. Only gonna get worse. I read somewhere that headlight bulbs were covered, which surprised me. |

I kind of doubt it, but I really have no idea. I put a cherry bomb cover on my 03, and with the new/improved hardware up front, does not make sense that it would crack, unless it was under a heavy amount of torque. Hope that was not the case. Has your bike been in the hands of a dealer lately? |

If it's still under warranty I would think so. |

I do not think it would be covered unless proven to be defective materials or workmanship. It doesn't hurt to ask. |

Yes, it is covered by warranty, I had a defective front fender warrantied. |

If the bike is still under warranty, then yes, it should be covered. My wifes cityX cover was just replaced under warranty for cracking at the front right bolt. Those translucent covers sure are brittle. |

To my surprise, my cracked Cherry Bomb airbox cover was replaced under warranty without any questions asked! Mine cracked around the front-most bolt on the left side of the gas cap. |

Those translucent covers sure are brittle. My first airbox cover was marked with huge spots, they replaced it and like a month after the warranty dropped the front right bolt area is completely spiderwebbed |

Yes, it APPEARS that it will be covered. I am a bit irritated that Buell warranty dept. is "thinking" about covering the airbox cover. The excuse is that I haven't had my bike serviced by the dealer since the 1,000 mile service. Obviously, this problem has no connection with dealer service (or lack thereof). I pointed out that the warranty verbiage contains nothing about dealer service being a condition of coverage. I am ready to take this to a higher level if they attempt to use this technicality to weasel out. I should know tomorrow. Thanks all for the info and I will use it as precedent that airbox covers have been replaced under warranty. (Message edited by fresnobuell on November 15, 2007) |

Good news (I need to not get worked up until the final decision comes in), Buell is covering the airbox cover. I would have been very disappointed (and pissed) if they didn't. In the back of my mind, I knew they would come thru. Thank you, Buell. |

Ask for the cracked cover back, unless they require it for warranty, you could always use for a track day or wall art. |
