Traded my '04 Harley Ultra Classic in a an '08 XB12X. All the salesmen seemed a bit puzzled. Now maybe my XB12R will get a little rest! |

A few weeks ago I traded my 2006 Heritage in on a 2008 Ulysses. I liked the Heritage but I LOVE the Uly! |

I'll have to change my name now. The only HD in the garage is the wife's. |

Buells Rule is trying to sell his gigantoglide to get a Uly. It's a weird sickness. Suddenly dirt becomes attractive, you lose your taste for free hotdogs and coffee at the Chrom-a-rama, and you develop an inner ear problem whereby you keep leaning farther and farther over. |

It's been an interesting phenomenon. Thinking was that folks would buy a Buell and "move up to" a Harley. In fact. . . . The opposite has been more common. Fixed . . thanks guys (Message edited by court on November 09, 2007) |

Last Saturday, traded my 2006 Road King Custom in on an '08 Uly. Got the same response ... "your trading that in on a Buell?" like I'd really lost my mind. |

Sold my 2005 FLHR for my 2006 Uly. I know three others in the company I work at that have either stopped riding their H-D (FLHRCi) or traded it in (FLHRS and FLHTCU) in favor of a Uly. |

Don't worry Court I understand what you meant He was trying to say: "Thinking that folks would buy a Buell and 'move up to' Harleys" at least I think that's what he meant. The phenomenon is not surprising to me, Buells are built for the pure joy of riding. (Message edited by diablobrian on November 09, 2007) |

I think some of the folks out there like the idea of American made or like the mystique that HD brings and so buy HD. They aren't performance bikes, so people who haven't ridden much don't push them and kinda ease into riding (I have half a dozen friends who bought HD as their first bike). When they get a little time in the saddle and get some skills, they feel comfortable test riding a Buell. When they do, they discover how much easier it is to ride from a performance standpoint. Buells make even marginal riders like me, seem better than they are. There is just so much broader a margin of error with Buells. Then you get folks like FB who start with the skills and the narrower margin of error on a gigantoglide doesn't matter. |

I like Harleys, I just wish I didn't have to go through the annual ritual of grinding off and replacing the footpegs. (Message edited by Old_Mil on November 09, 2007) |

Amen Jeremy. That's exactly what happened to me. After nearly high-siding my Softail on a twisty road, I knew it was time for a change! Keith |

You know with top, left and right cases, you are missing very little of the previous storage from your Ultra, and look at all the NEW roads you get to tackle. Havent taken in an Ultra yet, but a couple of Electras have come in trade for the Uly. |

I rode rice cruisers for many years in the midwest then I got a tuber out here on the leftcoast and was transformed into a corner carver. I bought a FLTRI so the wife could enjoy a ride and then the Uly came out and I knew it was going to be a great ride. Within a year I sold the road-barge! No complaints here other than my tuber has been collecting dust in the corner...... The Uly is the best bike I've ever owned period! BC Steve |

Gee I did the trade 2 years ago, Road Glide to Uly. I was looked at by a few as "You did what!" And I don't miss the Glide. The Uly never seems to not do something. Thanks Buell crew for making a great bike! |

Sold my 2003 Road King Classic bought 2006 Ulysses. Don't miss the road king a bit. Ulysses is twice (at least) the fun at half the price. |

"No chrome--- No catalog--- No problem." Buell marketing should steal that for use in a nation wide ad campaign...posters, pins, t-shirts the works. |

If only I could find a place to put some highway pegs... my left leg gets cramped when doing serious Uly mileage. That's the only thing my Road King does better than the Uly. |

When I ride with my friends I take the Geezer Glide but when I travel solo the Uly wins. If it's wide enough for two wheels, it's a road!! |

My family is starting to go Uly crazy. My Uncle, who brought my attention to Buell years ago, heard I got one, couldn't stand being bikeless (he was in between bikes) and got his Uly this afternoon. Now if I can just convince Dad to trade in his Dyna... (Message edited by Random on November 14, 2007) |

Not riding a ULY, but sure riding the same roads and pushin it like a ULY. She wanted to be a ULY when she grows up. This is bike 13 for me, and the single most fun I have ever had on ONE bike. |

Scooter - when at 1125 class, there was a guy from another dealer there who had mounted HD highway pegs to the chin spoiler of his XB-S. Very cool...very "different in every sense", LOL. I didn't get a chance to perch, but he said they worked awesome for him. |
